I already know this topic was quite shitty, but I havn't expected it to get that bad. Could we try to at least stay on topic please?

While on the derail: If all you guys would put the effort your show in this topic into coming up with mechanics that wouldn't lead to a world in the state the current one is, mechanics that would make sure that a world even 10 years old couldn't develop these problems... you would the game more good than with the repeated pointless whining about something we have completely no influence over.

Back to the tears now, please.

I've yet to meet anyone who's had their base destroyed or attacked by a titan, I've had mine attacked once and was harassed for a while by a low level guy who was bored and eventually quit the game. I think you're asking for a wipe based on a problem that isn't very widespread, most people aren't living in fear of the high stat guys, they are a none issue. If you're so scared why don't you get online and grind your stats, join and army and you will have all the support you need.

It's a sandbox game. I play a lot of sandbox games. I have never seen one which doesnt become stale after a long period of time.

Why do you even want the game to be like this? So you find a nice plot, build a big base then you never have to build another base ever again? Everyone just settles in and grinds for years on end till their stats and equipment are so ridiculously high that new players will need literally years to even catch up and the drama becomes nonexistent because everyone is so entrenched in their alliances and routines that nothing ever happens. Every section of the map is cordoned off into territories, all good nodes and village locations already discovered and claimed. Every potentially decent bits of land already containing abandoned old settlements. Every village or faction that gets wiped out has the option of either trying to compete against the same people from an even worse position or never play the game again. All the strongest factions have not only unachievably high botted stats/gear but also complete map mobility with intricate teleport nodes.

It sounds absolutely shit and you say it like its some design goal we should strive for.

instead of setting your mind on how things currently are and projecting that into the future, completely dismissing any possibility for change so you can lament that this would be shit as things are as they are - which makes you completely miss the point and waste precious electrons that could have been spend toward a solution.

Could you try to widen your perspective a bit, please?

That the current mechanics are shit as they're not able to support a world for an infinite timespan is known since several worlds ago, as are plenty of details on where / how / why they fail. Tell me something new please, preferably ideas how these issues could be solved.

Make a catalysm mechanic that greatly hits everything (every currently existing game/building/character in the game.)

Cataclysm causes all currently existing items to lost their 35% - 90% quality (includes trees and etc, farm, etc.) (example: 1039Q B12 drops to 104Q axe)
All currently living characters lose 40-80% their FEP bonus. (Example from 1000 AGI to 200AGI)
All buildings takes damage (but aren't destroyed, put maximum up to 90% of damage) and requires repair (siege stuff, boats, knarrs, etc. too).
stuff like ovens, spin wheel etc are hit with quality lost too.

All character at moments of cataclysm gains buff of 5% (each time increased by 5%), of developming rate (so it's faster than it was before cataclysm) and gains 10000XP for event multiplied for each next cataclysm.


Also, fudge nodes and randomly select them too.
