I feel the exact opposite of this.

Same here, but IMHO decay needs to also remove pavement and planted crops - the rest seems to clear up reasonably well with the updated decay mechanics.

i wonder if next world it would be a good idea to have an altitude recording generated at the beginning of the world for each tile corner so that long-abandoned areas slowly revert to their original elevations

+ forests expanding back into cleared areas and crop/pavement decay and slower building decay since right now it seems like abandoned village structures disappear unfortunately quickly

I think would be heavy on server side ... such as for growing trees and so on, but who knows about the new optimizations they are working on? We'll see ...

if you had it so forests would only regrow into originally forested areas i dont think it would be so bad

Not sure, we should ask to Loftar, but I know that also others games have huge problems with that, cause every tot time, server has to inspect them all deciding if a "tick of growth" should happen or not ... and usually, when the tick happen, that causes huge lag spikes, etc...

It's fine how it is. Loftar is working on actual problems.
Early world exploit: Put your hearthfire inside a cave, then hold shift to position a claim right in front of a cave. After 8 hours the claim will be unbreakable. Since your hearthfire is inside the cave, you can still get back inside, and leave, but nobody will be able to enter, effectively making you unraidable for the first 3-7 days. Enjoy

I dont see how this would be a problem server-performance-wise. Maybe trees could just regrow on their original places. We already have decay, I dont see how trees eventually growing back would be that much different.

Good to hear that ....I just know it's a problem on others games .... cause, you know trees are a lot, and when they update all together can cause issues.
Though if it's not a problem on haven I wonder why it's not already a thing ...
