I wouldn't be surprised if they made a world reset within month or two. It feels a bit weird for w10 to last this long, it's been going for over a year. Now it feels depressing to see all these abandoned ruins.

There were longer-lasting ones. As for the wipe, can't see it coming anywhere soon. People are less active during the summer, so it does not make sense to wipe when everyone is spending time outside of homes.

Academic year months, autumn, or X-mas-New Years would get more players playing and bringing more income/bigger servers. Look, the battle for Azeroth WoW is coming up on August 14th (schools start around this time, the first semester is the most relaxed one as well). Lara Croft thing comes up in mid-September, CoD on Oct 12 and etc. From what I have seen, the devs realize this trend pretty well. Although I'd personally go for the autumn reset, since you would have your population action for 9 months, instead of having 3-4 months of fun, 2-3 months of people quitting, then people coming back to ruines or not coming back since they feel it's pointless.

Can't argue with the facts. I've always had that false notion coming down to simply: summer time, x-mas = less work, no education = more time for playing and establishing yourself in the game; spring/autumn = more work or education, less holiday = less time for games, tendency to ditch time-consuming games. Now the autumn reset seems more plausible.

That is what people said 8 months ago.

They are (hopefully) going to finish the client rendering thing. After that they hopefully can work towards freeform building and object controleld objects or what those were. So we could walk above docks and stone towers and have bridges. With those all finished, they maybe could try making some new cool map generator.

no custom clients, or only approved - sounds nice, but hard to implement

Well, I guess that they want to reset this world, but, the truth is, it's not the right time. I think the devs want to at least improve the client and the reworking on the food. And, maybe, make something about the battle mechanics. So it probably happen after July, it may be October, or even November, but we will know as the updates come.

They will have to reset once food gets fixed. I am sad that they will probably do that as a last thing before reset.
People can enjoy broken stat gains for a while still.

Well THAT is never happening.

They mentioned seasons on their road map somewhere. I think they will do something along the lines of Client Rendering Rewrite, Object Controlled Objects and Freeform building, food system and then seasons which will be followed by a wipe. It makes sense to me if they wait after introducing a food system to iron out bugs before starting a new world. Seasons would probably also come with their own raft of bugs but not ones that will affect everyone's stats as much as food. Of course what has been said about the time of year is also important, I think the ideal window for a reset is Sept-Jan so I can easily imagine another 6-18 months before a reset.
