The only world reset/wipe requests/discussion topic

wiping the world will literally do NOTHING but repeat w10. fix all the shit thats broken first then reset. otherwise i doubt many players will come back to yet another broken world, and i believe jorb knows this so no point in asking for a reset. wont be coming anytime soon.

One could try to find out which hosting center devs have their server on, then buy your own server from there, and make a physical visit to the datacenter (I guess they allow those, if you pay at least). Smuggle some water in and throw it at the server which HnH world is saved on. You will probably get in a lot of trouble for this, but I think that it is the only way.

Yet we had w5 and w6.... I don't know if you were around for those two given the age of the account you're posting with. Backups would have been nice then. I will say that lessons have been learned and applied thoroughly.

Not quite that old. Saw the end of 8, did my own thing in 9. I've heard plenty about it from some of the veterans I play with though.
The real irony I was trying to point out is that the server was taken down by jorb a bit before that post, with the reason: "Restarting server in 3 mins. Forgot to make backup."

I think Jorb mentioned adding new cave levels at some point, maybe after client rewrite. That should keep the old hamsterwheel cranking until 2020.

I disagree.
Fixing "all the shit" takes a huge amount of time, which is one of the reasons this thread is over 3 years old. Do you believe they did nothing in 3 years?

I believe most players would come back, and a lot of currently inactive ones would come back too if the world was fresh.
Me and my friends have been avoiding H&H for months now, because it has become boring. You find almost anything by scavenging, and what you can't find you can easily buy by making money with very basic items. It has become a lot more conveniente to buy everything rather than skill up to gain it, because u find very cheap stuff of Q over 9000! (jk), like seeds, wood and so on.
Fighting has become impossible, since there are people with stats so high you can never hope to fight them (and there is no way to tell someone's stats by its look)...
And even realms don't care anymore about fighting... I used to be under HH, when they had some sabotage a few months ago, and lost land to another smaller realm. The first few days it seemed like a war was gonna happen, but nothing happened for weeks. They just gave up, it was a far border and not even they care about retaking their own land at this point.

All of this to point out that while I enjoy some late game, it has been going on for a long time now and it has become boring to many players.

IMHO the best course of action would be making a new world while keeping up the old one. This would allow them to keep working on the old world and test late game stuff (and if you're right, a bunch of people would stick to the old server because they don't want to start fresh on a -just as broken- one), while allowing others to get a fresh start in a new map, not filled with abandoned camps and old claims

The only reason it is 3 years old is that the old one got lost in the forum migration when world 8 started. Otherwise it would be about 7-8.

The old one exists somewhere in the archives. If anyone feels like a read, it's pretty much the same complaints then as there are now.
