So your complaint is that the devs implemented this not fully (as decay still only applies while maps are loaded), resulting in abandoned places not being cleaned up as fast as they would be in case they had been in an active area?

World too old, it's time to reset. And i play about month or two, a lot of abandoned places around me...

Same thing will never change - look at the player count in every world. First we will have like 1000-1500 players online for first month, and then it will drop. Offten wipes aren't the answer for that. Also if You want, You can catch in terms of quality at any point.
From the other hand, I get players that would like to start from scratch in new world - and this world in fact is old.
Devs will decide what to do, and when.
I would like only to know when that decision will be made.

So, odds of reset announcement on 8th?
I mean, if the announcement is just a 2019 roadmap or something small, wouldnt it be kinda the same as the massive letdown on last year's Blizzcon? New world is highly anticipated by many, just like new proper Diablo content was. Why keeping secret on such sensitive topic?

Well there are two possible ways to read their message:
1. you could read it 'literally', meaning the news will actually be small news, such as a roadmap or some minor content update;
2. or you could read it 'sarcastically', where small news actually means something huge, as a world reset or some major content update;

It's impossible to say what the odds are. They know perfectly how much people desire a fresh world, and while it being the new year doesn't make it the perfect time to reset (logically speaking), big changes like this often come to 'significant times' like New Years.

That being said, this would be a good time for it. Many players desire it, the holidays are over (meaning devs are back at work), and few dates are more significant for a fresh start than New Years...

Thought about that too, I think that this might not be the case because in if its a mere roadmap, why did he use this specific wording instead of straight up calling it a roadmap? To calm expectations, you know...

There's been 1000+ for only two to three weeks since w5. If you have such high standards for indie online games, good luck finding an active one. I've played more than a few indie MMOs over the years. They fall into two types--personal passion projects and commercial attempts to get into the big market. Only the first have had truly long term success. The second tend to either hit it big, or at least steady, and grow, die quietly, or turn into the first.

We need more indie games to be "personal passion projects", and less imitation of AAA over-produced trash that already over saturates every single genre.

Let's just say of all of them I have played, the ones that tried to be big have just died by the far majority. Not everyone gets to be Notch and make a fun little toybox that ends up getting sucked up by Microsoft for Billions.

truth, magic man. sometimes diamonds in the rough are also overlooked when they could have that AAA potential tbh
