cool story, let's hope it will help you to convince ppl you were arguin' and who don't want another w11 that they just need to believe that demanded changes will be included in the changelog of "w13".
would it be correct to say "and if not - just start immediately whine about w14, so maybe you'll get lucky next time"?

I'm very happy to hear that you now understand how world resets work. :)
I am thrilled to have had the opportunity to help teach you this difficult concept!

Let us be hopeful that nobody is silly enough to believe that just because they aggressively *demand* something to the devs that it will be automatically included in the game.
Demanding and whining sounds like very rude behavior, especially when you consider that nobody is forcing you to play the game. :)
It sure would be silly if somebody was demanding changes and making very rude and aggressive comments all the time on the forum of a game they don't seem to like very much!

Have a nice day. :)

I still think the "root issue" -philosophy should be applied when arguing what should be fixed.

For example, thinking that "day 1 animal cheese" is a root issue, there have been already couple good changes made to mitigate this:
1) Survival hardcap was added back in w11 (IIRC) (it has its own drawbacks but I consider it an ok mechanic)
2) Not exactly day 1 but they fixed being able to attack through closed gates in w12 (my group managed to kill a single Mammoth using it before fix)

However I consider Animal Armor to be BAD response to animal cheesing. Hardcore/big groups will find way around it, while casual/newbies/solo players will have to scrape by with small game they can just pick up for a while.
The most actively maintained Haven and Hearth Wiki (Not guaranteed to be up-to-date with all w14 changes.)

Basic Claim Safety (And what you’re doing wrong) (I recommend you read it in it's entirety, but TL:;DR: Build a Palisade.)

Let's be realists, this game is dying without wipe. Wipe is the main part of the gameplay, this is the time when old groups accepts new members to try them out. Old villages tries new projects and challenges. Even returning sprucecaps try new game features, which they were unable to afford during previous worlds. New stories, new game experience, everything happens on wipes only. Also, devs receiving the biggest donates.

Right now, there are less and less people online every month, as well as their time spent in the game, community involvement to the project. Do you really want to tempt fate, and try to wait new world with enough changes, and this will be done before community will decrease to the numbers where servers will cost more than donations brings?

You guys just think, that if you will wait long enough - you will receive new game experience, and it will become better, but it's not. Devs are quite limited in capacity for development, and it's nearly impossible to wait until features that makes worlds endless could be implemented.

Right now, I'd happily try all new additions, which were added in current world, in the fresh new one.
Smoking sausages/meats/fishes will be very useful on world start, but almost useless for mid or higher player tier right now.
Alchemy too, could be very useful for it's recipes, but most of them can be cured with medicines right now. New world will bring new opportunities for use it or trade.
Many other changes, that is just useless for players with 1000'ish stats, but can be very interesting in new world, makes wipe meaningful right now.

okay, let's try. just keep in mind that "being a realist" means "operate with facts, not opinions" now let's have a look on facts
Fostik wrote:this game is dying without wipe

that's not a fact. it is just how you feel it. Since there's still a bunch of ppl in game and devs still publish regular updates, it's obviously not dying, but more like "becomes less suitable for your game style". Can't blame you for the will to change this, but still there's a possibility that HnH is just not for you, and maybe you should seek more sessional games instead of everlasting sandbox (what was stated by devs more than once (see the bottom line for more info))
Fostik wrote:Right now, there are less and less people online every month

well, that's a fact, but look, there's another one! the main people online LOSS is just after the wipe
Image
so one may say "the more time passed after the wipe the fewer ppl quit playing. not saying that if your PC works for 20 mins after you turn it on and than requires reboot, you surely can reboot it every 20 mins, but it will be more productive to seek for the problem root (players loss) and eliminate that.
Fostik wrote:community will decrease to the numbers where servers will cost more than donations brings?

and that's just a hilarious fact brought here to scare little hermits with unstoppable doom. in the real world, the cost of HnH servers is somewhere near 100 euro/month and that's definitely won't ever be a reason to close the game if devs still want to keep it alive (even ten ppl with a bronze sub will cover servers cost), so please next time try to dig out some real reasons.
Fostik wrote:Right now, I'd happily try all new additions, which were added in current world, in the fresh new one.

and here's another "I just want a new world I don't know why" or... maybe there's a reason somewhere further? let' search!

oh look! a real reason! but wait.... fuck... nope, that's not a reason for a new world... that's a reason for a new character.
Really, do you know you can make a fresh start with new character and make all your dreams come true without waiting for a new world? there are many places in the current world that will simulate new world for you personally. so again, why do you want new world?

Summary: the HnH is still developing as a long-lasting survival game where players will, in time, be able to organize themselves into societies, from simple tribes and villages, progressing through republics, nation states and, ultimately, empires. This goal is just incompatible with sessional one-month servers some ppl want so much. And is you want to turn HnH into some battle-royale shit, please have balls to say it loud and don't hide behind false reasons such as server cost. Seriously, just try to be honest. Devs already makes it more and more focused on "one battle world", so you can be successful in your crusade.

The game is not dying without a wipe!!!!!
(shows graph that indicates that the game is dying without a wipe, making crazy inferences about the numbers, such as "less people are quitting" even though there is absolutely no way that the graph could show this)

You can't just make an argument based on an opinion!!!!
(proceeds to argue every opinion with a counter-opinion grounded in anger and peppered with wild inferences about new players and server costs)

please stop having YOUR opinions and have MY crazy minority opinions instead!!!!!!!!!!
(finishes rant by accusing people of wanting 1-month servers and battle royal despite nobody ever mentioning that, and paints a fairytale of what they believe the game will eventually be based on nothing but opinion)

Thanks you for proving that there is absolutely no reason to keep the current world outside of crazy misguided opinions. :)

Wipe is happening, it is undeniable.
The vast, vast, VAST minority of players are against the wipe.
This is what happens every single year, and every single year the people who cry the loudest suck it up and play the new world anyways.
