Well, I'll trade with you as well, but I'll expect you to come to me :P

Wait a moment, I'm willing to trade three bars of wrought iron for two bars of steel. You're willing to trade six bars of wrought for one bar of steel. Now are you saying that you'd trade with me at my proposed ratio? This just doesn't make sense! I suggest we miners unionize and give a uniformed price. A good price that we all benefit from.

How about a 3:1 ratio?

Edit: Meant 3, just now caught my mistake.

3:2 is bullshit and you know it.

Fact is that people want their steel while in crucibles to be safe. If they can't we can do it for them but it comes at a cost. We will try to keep the price fair, but so far people have been offering generously because they really want to have steel.

yeah i think at this point 5:1 is a fair price.

there can be server resets, removing wrought/steel, there have to be ppl who constantly refill the crucibles and you need fuel (loads of loads of coal). for the coal, you need trees, which you have to plant in the first place.
its quite an act to actually get steel from wrought.

plus, someone who buys steel can probably get it within some minutes. not days.

were glad to trade with everyone. and I think, its really fair.

You can load crucibles with branches....

I've done a 2:1 trade, with someone in my town, but I wouldn't dream of making such a trade with any person. I don't personally make steel myself just yet, but if I did I wouldn't want anything less than 4 wrought iron for one.

you do? hah! thats why im nature...
then cut that. well, as everything is floating right now, i say its still fair

/edit
plus: its also depending on what kind of market youd like to have. based on the pure needs? free markets without ethic (well not really, but you know what i mean...)? i say 8:1 !
prices only determined by the amount of work a product needs? 3:2?

At LEAST 5-1.
The fact that the chance of failure is not random in the conversion process does not mean that it is safe.
There is still a large chance of failure. Just not random failure.

I am glad that our settlement will have so much more security soon. What you guys want is an utter steal for the steel makers. You can be 97% confident of every wrought bar turning to steel. Asking for even three bars of wrought to one bar of steel is ridiculous. I know the Laketowners have traded fairly with me before, 11:7 ratios and such. Now it looks like they're abandoning their completely fair business practices in favor of the ridiculously high profits that they can make by fooling generous and un-savvy miners. Floyd, I highly suggest that you do what I'm doing and go into security. With prices like this, making sure your own crucibles are safe is a much better idea.

I offer an alternate deal for the miners: our first uninterrupted batch of steel will not be finished for a bit, but when it is I will offer a price of 10:6.

Do you realise we handled 12:7 for you? I do think you're right tho. I made 5:1 up last night and it does seem a little high. It's going to be 4:1 and 3:1 if you trade more than 10 wrought if all laketowners agree.

I hope you do realise that most people make steel insecure. Nothing can be stolen from us. It's the result of a couple hours work. We also don't let steel fail because we forgot. It's called dedication. And for all that you have to pay. Or make it on your own.
We will however keep trading 12:7 with you.
