So over all if you make a purely square place with a gate on one side it would cost you 10 + 5 * 5 = 35 wrought iron, unless you have one end of the gate also be a corner of the rectangle, which would save you 5 wrought iron. You probably also need some for the gate, though I don't know the specific cost as I haven't built one yet.

Oh, theres corner posts at the edge of the gat too...I'd switch to a palliside, but I'm in a desert....

The gate for the brick wall requires 5 steel, btw.

So in the end, you'd still require 40 bars of wrought iron, imagine that.
You see a masterful engraving by Blaze. On it is Blaze, bears, boars, and foxes. Blaze is striking down the bears. The boars are screaming. The foxes are in a fetal position. The image relates to the return of Blaze in the late winter of 2009.

So, has anyone tried combining one of these walls with a ravine - so one only has to do one side of it? Is that even workable, given the description? (Would one have to do two "first" corner posts, at huge expense? If so, a square might be cheaper.)

Brick walls aren't meant to be cheap floyd. It's to prevent wall griefing.

Besides, the investment is worth a nearly impenetrable wall.

Oh, also, why on Earth would you choose to live in a desert? You have only yourself to blame for that one. :P

Going to a desert makes perfect sense if you're thinking of making a brick wall. Easy clay = easy bricks.

Stillmeadow is in the grasslands next to a desert. We had no problems getting bricks, and don't need to whine about no trees.
