Guys, enough with this arguing. Get the fuck out of this thread Sabinati, you're turning all assholish for no apparent reason. Stop acting like the wise-ass that you aren't.

If Nevyn wants to buy linen rather than toil day after day on a bunch of flax fields, so be it. Stop trying to push this on him, for Gods sake. Jesus, the way you're ranting and forcing this upon him is stupid. Just get out the thread if you don't want to trade. And stop throwing stupid deals around. A basket of linen for a basket of Piroz? Haha...

Anyway, a quick summary, go back and look at the past two pages. It's all you bitching about Nevyn being stupid and getting other people to join it.

PS: Sabinati, I know you're a decent guy, but you're just digging yourself a hole. Just leave it be, stop trying to shed your wondrous light on Nevyn, cause Nevyn is adamant in getting linen.

you're the one being a petulant child, nevyn. i'm offering a fair deal. you need linen. i want baked goods. your quality argument is irrelevant, as linen requires about the same amount of effort as a baked good. it doesn't matter if my linen is q1 or q100, and i don't really care if your baked goods are q10 or q50, q50 being what most would call mid to high quality for a baked good, by the way. linen = harvest 5 plants, walk to loom, weave. robs = harvest one wheat, one poppy, get bucket of honey, get bucket of water, boil, bake.

i have plenty of use for linen myself, including trading it to other people who are willing to pay for it, and i have plenty of other items i can trade for a basket of baked goods. if you don't like my offer, feel free to wait for other offers.

my whole point with telling you that you should just work for a week and make the linen yourself was simply to be helpful, because you're going to be working for it no matter what. the question is simply would you rather make baked goods, or linen?

and loopoo, i am an asshole, however, i'm generally fair, and helpful.

as far as "stupid deals", i think that my prices are reasonable. i've purchased anywhere between 16-36 baked goods for a single bar of iron, depending on the quality of the iron. i've also traded 16-36 linen for a bar of iron, again, depending on the q of the iron, but my rates on both have always been analogous, and nobody else has complained.

I hope that iron was of great quality, because a chest of pastry for a single bar sounds like a huge rip-off to me.

:(

Either way, Nevyn, find someone else. I'm going to set up some Flax fields now, and I love farming, so i'll have about 3-4 5x5 farms set up in the next 3 days (i've got school, lots of homework. Busy time for me).

I also got about 18 nuggets of cast iron to make into chests for us (mainly me :p I need personal storage!)

So yeah, keep trading but don't trade with Sabinati. The deal is horrible :o

I feel obligated to thrust my 40 cents back into this thread. I don't understand why Sabinati is being shunned. The deal wasn't bad. Certainly not as bad as the idea. Anyway, good luck. If you have silk in any form: coccoons, filaments, threads, etc. That's the biggest thing we're looking for.

Our Silk Farm has not been set up as of yet, Gaiadin. But we are hoping to start one sometime in the future...

I am not Shunning Sab, I just feel that if you make an offer for a trade, don't make one that you stick to till the end of the world. If he has offered a Banner's Worth of Linen, I would have offered around 23 Pastry. Which while Close to his 1:1 ratio it is still fair enough compared to other Sellers who would Trade even less and wouldn't bother attempting to Haggle with Sab...

Despite the seems of his Inability to do so...

Don't take it personally Neyvn. It seems very few around H&H understand haggling. Almost every time I make an offer people take it personally, reply with laughter and insults. Seems ahggling is a lost art and it's going to take some time to get people to come out of theri shells into communities. I feel you on tryignt o run a village by yourself but imho if the kids don't want to put the effort needed into acquiring the mine then I personally wouldn't be shelling out so damn much.

I can offer a few tips though. One of the reasons people hate massive flax field is that it tends to cause client render lag for some peoples computer (don't mention hardware it happens on even brand spakin' new PC's but not on some antiques, paradox but w/e even the devs are aware of this anomoly). Best way around it si to convert to hemp. Not to mention hemp grows fast and can be picked twice a day. Good luck with your mission sorry I don't have what you want atm i need a shitton of linen myself. If it were me I'd go get the skills they talk about (tresspassing thieving) and then go mine up a shitton of ore. Trading THAT for linen will be surprisingly productive. I was very successful at procuring large amounts of linen offering 1:1 nuggets of cheap chestmetal and cellar bars. Also, being in IRC helps as there tends to be a lot of trade goin on there. Just put it out every so often that you're buying linen for nuggets. That's going to be a lot less work than any of the other commodities you want to offer.

my initial offer was 1:1, you countered with asking for 2 linen : 1 baked good. 25:23 would, in fact, be fine.

i haggle all the time, but you apparently have no idea how to do so. do you walk into a store and ask for half off the price of goods?

Here is how you haggle (Comic Comedy)...

You go back a forth till you reach a price that both agree on...
Perhaps if instead of staying put on 1:1 you might have made a counter offer, maybe this would have been done ages ago...

So 25 Linen for 21 Rings, Yes??? (21 being the amount I can make at this moment)
