That 'smooth responsiveness' is what makes them so janky. They're "so smooth and responsive" that the player avatars move like coked-up squirrels, crouch-jumping and running with knives or leaping up into the sky on their own ammunition and artifice. They look ridiculous because of what the people who play them value about them.

I've seen some jank in pubg's vehicle physics, but the more limited movement looks more grounded. I understand (but am not familiar with) Tarkov takes being cumbersome to the extreme, making it more frustrating to play but less ridiculous to watch, to the point it's more suspenseful than frenetic. What makes a game fun is not what makes it look good. Crysis looked amazing but it was mediocre at best as a video game.

A lot of games prioritize game feel and gameplay over realism with characters jumping higher than anyone could in real life and being able to control their mid-air velocity. Why? Because it's fun and when realistic movement feels janky it's unfun.

I loved the movement in counter strike 1.6 a million times more than what csgo has.

I think I should add, there's a demographic element to it. Teenagers and twenty-somethings think faster and have faster reflexes, while older people tend to have better judgement and more ability to read people. And people tend to enjoy playing games they're good at, so a game an older person might find too bewildering and chaotic to enjoy is great for a younger person who likes mashing the buttons, while a game a younger person might find frustrating and uncontrollable may be just perfect for an older person who can predict what the other players are going to do, and see what's coming before it happens. Those are in conflict, a game that lets players change directions mid-jump, for example, spoils the fun for someone who's waiting for the fall, and being able to read people isn't much use when there's a 20-way battle royale going on in one room, while having fast reflexes is pretty much the only hope there. So it's not just about being objectively fun or not, because there's so many different kinds of fun.

Ive always used the word "janky" when talking about games that feel clunky/awkward/unresponsive etc. For example Im not a fan of call of duty but the fps mechanics & controls feel really clean/smooth so I wouldnt call it janky at all. I guess its a weird word you could use in different ways but thats how I tend to use it.

Anyway here is latest PvP video:
The Storm of Swords meta nobody saw coming!

My OBS isnt picking up discord for some reason, last time it was quiet this time its nonexistent. Also shit PoV cuz I kept fumbling my keys and not even contributing to the storm of swords clusterfuck!

I see so many skill issues there:
- Archer shooting his allies - self explanatory,
- Players need to use cheat client which auto-chasing rabbit, because they don't have reflex to click them manually,
- Players need to use cheat client to mark the target player, because they can't communicate with each other,
- Players need to use cheat client which show opennings, becuase they can't memorize that,
- Players need to use cheat client which calculate some of the oponent stats, because they can't judge it by themselves,
etc.

Yes, welcome to custom client & hearth. Honestly I think everyone would be better off if there were no speed buffs involved in any facet of character development at all, not through credoes or anything else.

our client doesn't have half of those things, you gotta click rabbits to chase them ofc, you gotta say names to target a player, you might notice our naming. calculating agi isn't even a big thing in a big group fight like this especially when there is a cap to agi.

Fun fight though!
