That 'smooth responsiveness' is what makes them so janky. They're "so smooth and responsive" that the player avatars move like coked-up squirrels, crouch-jumping and running with knives or leaping up into the sky on their own ammunition and artifice. I've seen some jank in pubg's vehicle physics, but the more limited movement looks more grounded. I understand (but am not familiar with) Tarkov takes being cumbersome to the extreme, making it more frustrating to play but less ridiculous to watch, to the point it's more suspenseful than frenetic. What makes a game fun is not what makes it look good. Crysis looked amazing but it was mediocre at best as a video game.
