Then it has been tried? And how did people abuse it? And why not tweak the system so it cannot be abused rather than saying it will not work.

How would one tweak new player protection so that it won't be abused? The game can't tell the difference between someone who's new to the game and someone who's played for 5,000 hours and just created their 50th new account. It's almost impossible to objectively determine whether an alt has been created just to cause others grief, and determining that it's an alt in the first place is even harder. If someone is a new player and they're going around wrecking everything and obstructing everyone in sight, then getting knocked out by an enraged hearthling is the way their gaming experience is supposed to go, by design.

Well most people can use their deduction to forsee the results, without actually having to try. You don't need to chop off your legs to know you will go slower without them and that it will hurt like hell.
And I gave plenty of arguments other than calling you a retard (which you are). Devs gave ton of arguments in their "thoughts on pvp" but you said they endorse serial-killers which I'd consider akin to name-calling without actually refuting their arguments for it.

And as I said, I wish they did a test non-pvp server just so you can see how bad it'll be.

Foggy definitions make it hard to talk about. Often when people say 'PvP' they mean combat between player characters, but that's far from the only kind of PvP that takes place, and combat between characters isn't necessarily 'PvP', it can be done collaboratively.

Ultimately, the only way to have a game without PvP is to have players agree not to engage in destructive or harmful behavior toward other players, or else punish them for doing it by removing them from the game. That's not possible without heavy moderation no matter how the game is designed.

H&H is instead designed to give players tools to make things difficult for those who choose those behaviors, either through deterrents that make it not worth the effort, or opportunities for retaliation to allow players to punish others for their (real or perceived) transgressions.

Exactly, having pvp is not just about killing other players, it's about the implication that you can be killed, especially if you decide to fuck someone over.
Arguably people fucked around way less back in legacy (IMO) where if you got KO'd you were just dead unless the other party decided to let you live, and the inheritance was much less generous (in most cases).

A lot of PvP isn't even about combat, it's about controlling ressources aka claims. Claiming land is its own right a PvP action, as it prevents others from freely using that land,they have to get criminal skills and leave scents.

It's all about control.


Also, before ancestors and inheritance process we had the Change and Tradition meter. Where if you went 5 change you had 300% exp and less inherited stats/skills or tradtion eith 33% exp and more inherited stats/skills. Thank god that's gone.
