Reeds. They're somewhat useful for strings, but consume a ridiculous amount of energy to clear. To cut a usable amount I'd probably have to consume more food than when chopping and leveling a whole map grid.

Clearing reeds does take a lot of energy, but they can be more versatile. Thicket’s efficient, but sometimes the extra effort with reeds is worth it for the resources.

Thickets are an egregious atrocity, adding nothing but irritation to the game. You may walk across them on foot, as can any animals ...except a horse you are riding, which must undergo numerous time wasting detours to get around them (if wild horses can cross them then so should domestic horses). You cannot destroy them, plow them, or build on them. What purpose do they serve other than to induce unacceptable language from players.

Wrong & wrong. You can plow them ... just not the way you tried it.

Fun fact. Leased domestic horses will follow you trough thicket covered cliffs. (... go figure.)

And trees on thicket ... can be of some use in some particular cases.

... O yea: 4) Dev's.

I get the "you cannot do that on this terrain" message. Same if I try to dig in a thicket.
