I'm not really sure how you link being mean in a video game where you are incentivized to do so with a school shooting.
I mean, the only difference between pvpers and real life criminals is the former are too chicken to do anything irl
Much easier to hurt people when all it takes is pressing a few buttons in a video game lol
Honestly, you shouldn’t take forums or games too seriously.
I remember the developers of this game once said during a livestream, when their base was being sieged, something like: "It was tense and exciting. Sure, some players get hysterically angry, but don’t take it so seriously."
This applies to open-world PvP survival games like SCUM, which I play a lot. You might get raided and lose a base you spent hundreds of hours building, but at the end of the day, it’s like, “Oh well, that’s how it goes.” That’s about it. Of course, it’s disappointing, but there are plenty of other games to play, and it’s not like someone punched you in real life. You can refresh yourself by moving on to another game or hobby.
It’s even more true for games like Haven with full wipes. Even if your character or base gets completely wrecked, you’re just left thinking, “So that’s how this season ends. Next time, I’ll aim for a different outcome.” If you don’t enjoy it, you can just play a different game or spend time on another hobby. There’s no reason to stay in an environment that only causes stress.
