Murdered on my first day

Hello everyone, my friends in discord told me to place this message here for awareness. Basically, I was murdered on my first day in this game. I joined the game new from steam, and really enjoyed it up to this point. While my friend was teaching me to fish, a group of two players approached me in a much larger boat. They immediately initiated combat with me and I was unable to teleport back to my village. They essentially held me hostage on the river, telling me to scan a QR code on their boat. I scanned it on my phone and it took me to an imgur link. They asked me if I was an ephebophile, said "This is MAGA country", and then killed me. I figured this is a common occurrence in games like this so I moved on, however, my friends told me I should make a forum post so here it is. I took screenshots of the event. Besides the death, I have been enjoying the game a lot and look forward to rebuilding my character!

Your friend has no clue or was trolling you expecting people to mock you.
Unfortunally it's not usual at all , you have to accept it and move on.
Try to not be visible from water , dry some hides , make leather, set a claim and make a pali. it's priority number 1.
glad you enjoy the game and not discourage by the death , you managed get past this major obstacle that make people leave.
You're not a quitter , congrats ,you should adore this game.

thats a classic.

just for the future. if a player is barreling down on you. run.
dont boat, dont go near deep water, just run, and use your defenses (purple skills)
and dont scan anything, do anything, or give over hats.
just learn the running game.


it takes a while to get used to it, but eventually you will figure out, its way harder to actually kill a player, if they arent cooperating in their own execution,
next time, you will just loose your loot. and survive, and at some point you might actually get away.

Yeah the devs don't seem to want crimes to have any consequences and want try hards to be able to salivate over killing noobs cause it's the best thing they have going in their lives.
