Part of the whimsy of this game is hunting, exploring, foraging and discovering new things.

When you are in a village with 100+ other people, who will be endlessly competing for resources with your own villagemates.

It will be a challenge to gather even the most basic resources and you will have to rely on trade, which is exploititve and boring in comparison as you will likely have to trade your time doing menial tasks just to get what you need.

Playing alone or with a couple friends is a much better way to experience the game as a new player.

Not true at all, btw. We will teach you how to get resources and be efficient even in a large village, which is an important skillset to have to play at a higher level.
The people who are suggesting otherwise also live in large villages, and they specialize in ganking and preying on new players who are defenseless against them.

Just to clarify, sorry for double post, we live in large villages of 20 to 40 ppl where every single aspect of industry is fully shared. You need tools/armors/weapons/wood/spices/etc? You get it. WB is too big to make that a possibility, which si what i think Zentsuken is aiming at. You don't provide all your villagers with the top of the line equipment instead they have to compete with 300 ppl (that's what you're aiming at) for resources they can trade for it on the market. Idk how can you even compare 20-40 vs 300 ppl in a single village.

And i'm not saying this is a wrong way to play, but I don't think this is the way i'd like to play or if i could choose experience hafen for the first time, although community probably compensates for it in some ways.

This is the most autistic group of people I've ever had the chance of playing with, and proud to do so for the third year now.

This is so true.
Whateverbay has become too powerful and will probably stay as the most powerful this world too.
Only join them if you aren't up for the challenge of being independent.

Yeah I think I'm gonna enjoy my third world playing in a big village after the first 5 tries playing with smaller groups and getting bullied by major factions.

Don't get me wrong, the game is super fun to play solo until you get demolished. Then it's a week or even a month of wasted work. Or you can live in or even just nearby the village and recover from any losses pretty quickly.

Relying on the building of extensive infrastructure to fast travel you far away from the village just to afford the opportunity of playing the game normally is a hilarious and sad cope.

You can't tell me that managing travel weariness and teleporting around (only once enough roads are actually built to make 100+ people's foraging needs realistic) is a better new player early game experience than just logging into the middle of nowhere.

They will still be struggling for days and weeks, and will ultimately not get the same enjoyable experience they would in a smaller group.

I genuinely feel bad for any brand new players you guys lured in.
