Recent Crimes around Bottleneck and Resolution

Postby kholhaus » Fri Aug 14, 2009 5:41 am

Many recent crimes (Which can be read about in the Bottleneck Bulletin, the strawbasket westerly of the village idol.) Have lead me to believe that Ragnarok, the end of the world, will quite possibly send Bottleneck into a crime spiral. Being courier to the Bottleneck Bulletin authors, I tend to pick up a lot of rumors and facts about what goes around town. I also recently ran into a lot of corpses, accounts of theft, and illegal logging of the town's trees. Not, mind you, the ones that were fully matured and/or marked to be logged.

Which brings me to the point. I have heard that you can block the entrance of a Cellar, so that you cannot exit from the bottom. If we were to, say, destroy the offender's hearth, and have them come quietly, with threats of death to keep them in line. Bottleneck has a serious looming cloud of Crime Spiral ahead. I propose that the town of Bottleneck elect a sheriff and build a prison with a cellar. Inside said prison could be a basket with parchments listing most recent wanted criminals for foul acts. If the criminal goes back to his village idol, or even back to the Ring of Brodgar, it just means more trouble of travel for them, and death the next time they come close to our town.

Citizens of Bottleneck, your verdict?

Most of the clues you see are probably from the small group of wannabe griefers that have been attempting to bother us lately, or from people fighting back against said group.

Considering that almost all criminals are throwaway alts, I do not think a jail would help very much.

It seems rather silly to me that someone would worry about crime increases at the end of the world. Especially if we don't keep our stuff. :P

In spite of Ragnarok, I think it best we keep Bottleneck together before the end of the server, and only when it's on it's way to Zero-Hour should we go into chaos and take what we'll all need for the new town.

I think he meant all griefers are alts. Which I'd say is true.
