I think you're pretty much right at the end, if not for the neighbors you could have quite a city going on.

Doubtless in time they will request vassalage and then peaceful annexation

Our village influence can remove claims if necessary! (evil glint)

In other news, we now have a copper mine in an undisclosed location! MUahahahaha. I request high quality bricks for smelters. Soon we will begin to store these, for trade when copper is actually useful.

The mine is to be shared with the fine folks of Temporaria, whose Lawspeaker-to-be helped me find the location.

EDIT: If you are interested in working on the mine, you may receive copper as payment for your effort. However, I stress that the mine is 50% the property of the city of Brodgar, including all its citizens. What this means is that we shall have to begin work on our treasury soon. I propose that the area behind the idol is to become an inner compound for the legal/meeting hall and treasury. There, we can begin to store copper for trade for iron, or what have you.

I note, you need to be able to swim across a river, so those new players may ignore this. If you are brave enough to risk it, you may place a hearthfire at the site, porting back to Brodgar idol to get home.

I have build a area with a friend that would work great as a shipyard(and plans to be one) that would build and repair ships for CoB and anyone that would want to buy/repair a boat from there.

If this is what people were talking about when saying...
PhaedrothSP wrote:...Have you ever considered having the village wrap around the river?
You could have that end of the river be port.

or...
Laremere wrote:I think he was saying the current city is like this: r = river, c=city, o = other

ooooooooooo
ooooooooooo
rrrrrrrrroooo
oocccccoooo
oocccccoooo
oooooooooo

and instead do this:

ooooooooooo
oooccccccooo
rrrrrrrrrccoo
oocccccccoo
oocccccccoo
oooooooooo

causing the end point of the river to be in the middle of the city and having it be a port for incoming boats that trade.

Then it seems that this would work on may levels that the people want.

Take note this would be more privately owned then CoB owned but still work for CoB. This would allow for a few people to do JUST ship as a job. Like me(Jones ingame) and Fluffy (Ramius ingame) to be shipwrights. Truly I would like to be a Port Master that would make me more of a worker of CoB itself and not the shipyard, but its too soon for PM talk just yet says yolan so for now Im just a shipwright.
say what you think...

...not about placing orders just yet tho....

Say what I might about the Goon Educational Authority, I have to admire the way they've kept the world almost pristine in that claim. I wonder if perhaps the city might try to take the land around the RoB under claim and start to re-grow the forestlands there. I for one wouldn't mind helping with the planting and growing of these trees.
Surprise.

On somewhat that note, trading question: Would brodgor be open to a trading partnership with me for linen cloth? I would supply a large amount that can be used to make banners in the city, while you in return provide something back. Interested?

I don't suppose you guys would want to use a different acronym for the city of Brodgar? Because, CoB has already been taken by the Confederation of Bottleneck :|
The grumpiest tree you ever did see.

Character: Hamel, previously Chieftain of Ancient Bottleneck, a founding father of the Confederation of Bottleneck. Currently a hibernating soul.
