There is, and I'm waiting until the census and book keeping law passes before publishing it.

I think for the moment we primarily need miners

Hey guys, I've ported a bunch of logs into town from a nearby forest. More where those came from.

My idea is this: The southern extension of Brodgar remains mostly empty. Partially, I think its way too hard for a new player to build their own bit of land there, if only for the lack of wood! So, how about we build a bunch of enclosures for them? I'm thinking, large enough for a small farm, small enough that we can fit in about 7 into the space that is left. Then we can give them to newish people who want a little gardeny farm in Brodgar, where they can be safe and just grow their crops unmolested near the RoB. What do people think? I reckon a plot that is 5 times the size of a hut would even be good.

If boats were in, I'd be importing wood by the boatloads =[

While it could help get more people to join the city it gives a few slight problems: The idea of having to own a residence in or around the city to be considered a citizen (and thus being able to vote) would no longer be a good way of determining who counts as a citizen to keep alts from voting (the idea was flawed already as I, for example, have several cabins, one in the city and 2 on my claim just outside the current city border which will likely be inside the city borders relatively soon giving me the ability to "sell" one to an alt to vote twice, plus the one I could probably easily obtain as a "new player"(/alt)), also there should probably be some rule like the houses stay property of the city or such to prevent people from getting one mainly to sell it again without having made any effort for it.

5 times a hut would be rather large, but it sounds reasonable. I'd be more than happy to get some wood from across the western river, but it would be a slow process with my travel weariness as it is >.<

Wood is really not a problem now. As I said, I just port it in. By that I mean, I have a hearthfire in a forest, I pick up wood, and port to the idol. There and back, there and back. As much wood as we could want. =D

Try and see theTrav or I in person in game. Failing that, you can start work on your little compound in an area that is not under village influence yet, like to the south. Please be respectful of size. hopefully somebody will help you out.
