Etienne wrote:While it could help get more people to join the city it gives a few slight problems: The idea of having to own a residence in or around the city to be considered a citizen (and thus being able to vote) would no longer be a good way of determining who counts as a citizen to keep alts from voting (the idea was flawed already as I, for example, have several cabins, one in the city and 2 on my claim just outside the current city border which will likely be inside the city borders relatively soon giving me the ability to "sell" one to an alt to vote twice, plus the one I could probably easily obtain as a "new player"(/alt)), also there should probably be some rule like the houses stay property of the city or such to prevent people from getting one mainly to sell it again without having made any effort for it.

Well, I don't propose we just give them to whoever asks, at any time, but to new members who then have to actually live in it. This is partially my fault for not writing up a census or land usage law yet, but my basic thought was that citizens are those that own property in the city, but to continue to legitimately hold that property you need to actually maintain it.

Don't forget, you can also just put your hearthfire in a forest, and port back and forth for a minimal weariness fee. I brought over like 25 logs for the cost of a mug of beer in weariness.

I know, but at the moment I have no access to beer and I rarely go sleep on a bed, so I'm pretty much maxed out >.>

I wouldn't go that far... We've got a few members but I doubt we're the largest community in the game.

I'd say we're making steady progress and succeeding at the majority of our goals is still quite possible.

Please spread the word, the offer of payment for linen is currently suspended while I audit our accounts.

Contributions will be recorded, and payment will be attempted, however there is no promise that payment will be made, nor the rate at which you will be paid.
