Of course not, as people have suggested it would be silly to completely ignore actions against you. Unfortunately to get here you've had to move the goals from playing down at your opponents level to give them a taste of their own medicine to what you are now describing as proportionate response. This is nothing to do with proportionate response, I'm calling out Laremere on the hypocrisy of supporting what the OP accused VoodooDog of (where he did exploit or not) on the simple grounds he hates Goons their actions.

It's not like he said 'well I don't agree with doing that, but I'm glad someone struck out at those jerks', he more or less hi-fived it.

This is all moot of course, I don't actually care if Goons grief or people grief Goons back, it's part of online gaming and dare I even say human nature. I just find it amusing people get so pissy about griefing, but it becomes cool when the situation is reversed. Sorry bros, but if it's such a bad thing it doesn't stop being bad just because you are doing it to them. Ironic perhaps, but doesn't make you any better. Get off your high horses and accept Goons just unleashed your true nature.

Bolt, nobody is complaining because Coriander got killed with glitch abuse. Because he wasn't. If they were, then it would indeed be hypocritical to cheer on Delamore's supposed death due to glitch abuse. As it is, I see no hypocrisy here, just plain old fashioned schadenfreude.

This is an interesting game. Finding bugs is encouraged, and the developers have declared that it's perfectly OK to abuse them as long as they last, provided they also get reported. The basic rule seems to be that anything which is possible is OK, with the exception of some possible hacks to the open source client. Thus there's nothing wrong with using a glitch to kill a high level character.

Of course it's massively frustrating for the character in question, and scary for other characters. But morally speaking, it's no different from challenging the character to a formal duel and winning.

As for griefing - I haven't seen any claims of griefing in this thread. You are fairly new, so may not realize it - but voodoodog's first character was killed by a group that included Delamore; I don't think anyone has said who struck the fatal blow, but it hardly matters. It's not griefing if voodoodog avenges himself - even if he was killed in response to some dubious killings of his own. One can call voodoodog a griefer, given those killings, but he wasn't griefing in this instance - and in any case, the term griefing tends to be used for pointless destruction and similar. (Yes, pointless out of the blue killings also qualify, but that particular griefing style has been rare so far, and voodoodog's murders don't fit that category.)

Did you know?

The largest land snail ever found was 15 inches long and weighed 2 pounds!
Snails' bodies produce a thick slime. Because of this slime, they can crawl across the edge of a razor and not get hurt.
Some snails have been known to live up to 15 years.
Snails are hermaphrodites which means that they have both male and female reproductive organs.
Snails usually travel in irregular paths, often traveling in a circle.
Snails reply mainly on their sense of touch and smell when finding food because they have very poor eyesight.
Snails cannot hear.
Snails can retract one or both of their tentacles at a time.
Because of the suction created by their slime, a snail can crawl upside down.
Snails are nocturnal animals which means they are more active at night.
Garden Snails mainly eat garden plants and vegetables, but they will also eat decaying plants and soil.
The fastest snails are the speckled garden snails which can move up to 55 yards per hour compared 23 inches per hour of most other land snails.
Garden snails hibernate during the winter and live on their stored fat.
Garden snails breathe with lungs.
Garden snails evolved from sea snails about 600 million years ago.
The garden snail is cooked and eaten as a delicacy called escargot
May 24th is National Escargot Day
