Shame on whoever cut down the apple tree at the east gate. Great shame.

...Have you ever considered having the village wrap around the river?
You could have that end of the river be port.

Heh, from memory the river is pretty long, I doubt we'd get all the way around it, other people will already be established further up/down stream.

Straddling the river would be a nice idea, but probably not workable until bridges are made

I think he was saying the current city is like this: r = river, c=city, o = other

ooooooooooo
ooooooooooo
rrrrrrrrroooo
oocccccoooo
oocccccoooo
oooooooooo

and instead do this:

ooooooooooo
oooccccccooo
rrrrrrrrrccoo
oocccccccoo
oocccccccoo
oooooooooo

causing the end point of the river to be in the middle of the city and having it be a port for incoming boats that trade.

Yeah, that would be a pretty nice design. Lots of riverside properties too! =P

I like this idea, though first we need to use the space we have got. But for future expansion.. sure!

Brodgar now has a new community workshop area, as per my last zone plan release.

Instructions: Got time on your hands? This place needs a kiln, an oven, a smelter, and a shack. Inside the shack, I'd love to see a loom, a spinning wheel, and later, an anvil. Moreover, in the basement, storage for basic shared crafting goods, so that they are not lying around scattered about Brodgar for anybody to walk away with.

Right now the workshop gate is open. Once I get my hands on some iron, I will make key copies, and only citizens will have access. Regardless, this spot is already covered by village influence, so no new player can walk in and carry off a loom.

FOR BRODGAR!!!

Oh, I must have the wrong mental map... I thought brodgar was at the middle of a long river, as opposed to near the edge of a river... Which side is the edge on? I thought it was like this
Code: Select all

OOOOOOOOOOOOO
RRRRRRRRRRRRR
CCCCCONOOONOO
CCCCCOOONOOOO
OOOOOOOONOOOO

where the R goes practically forever, and the N are neighbors
