So you're saying this was all a social expiriment?
Just kidding. But yeah, Brodgar isn't going to work so well with people who like to kill people for no reason but 'fun'.

The idea of an 'open' city does not seem feasible, especially with these kinds of players who murder for apparently no reason at all. A palisade wall around the city might restrict growth, but it will at least provide some security.

It'd have to be a long long wall though.
The palisade wall for the last Brodgar made it really restricted, though it was quite long...

you could wall off a city into districts, but that wouldnt work with the layout you went with

Here is a note of History...

When the first Iron weapon was made, there was barely enough Iron processed properly to make a Sword, but in the end was a a dagger (thought slightly longer). It was considered inferior to the copper weapons just by those that looked at it, its length and such seemed stupid to use in combat compared to the length of the bronze swords of that age. A young Blacksmith ended up being the first to use the weapon to defend himself from Raiders using Bronze weaponry. He only blocked with the Dagger yet the Bronze Sword was chipped to the point that it broke clean. Basically what I am saying is. We have Bronze, they have Iron. The only difference is that WE are the Blacksmith Boy...

((Note, Story most likely 70% Bull))

You know, I just had the same kind of idea for what my home should be like if I ever got around to it...
It'd be walled around all over but seperated into different sections so I wouldn't leave shit all over the place. =P
One problem though would be how many more trees it would take. We're quite big enough already, and the nearby forest is about a minute's walk.
Expand more and we probably won't have any trees left...

And Nano, I see your point...Kind of. I hope there's a solution to all of this...

really i'm sure most of the people that have iron would be willing to trade you for bronze... but what do you want iron for? weapons and armor? bronze weapons and armor are actually pretty great. but it didn't really look like any of the people that got killed in those screenshots had any weapons or armor, and, i'm guessing any combat skills.

well, like jackard was saying, you might want to start building up your warrior class or look in to some alliances with some of the bigger groups. preferably both, really.
