Xanadu and Wayneville have come to an agreement of sorts. We've decided to have a peace treaty between our villages, because of our mutual interests and goals, at least for now. One of those goals is to stop the wars in the hearthlands for a while, so that this game can attract more players and people can build up their settlements over the holidays. Both of us have performed raids, for different reasons, but they were raids none the less. These raids will stop now and will only start again after either party ends the treaty by performing an act which is an obvious act of war, like another raid for example.
Both parties will still be allowed to kill criminals that have stolen from them or otherwise hurt their settlements without it breaking the treaty. But there's a big difference between killing one person and raiding whole villages and I'm guessing that every hearthling and every member of both parties involved understands that. We just don't want this map to end up exactly like the last one.
For anyone that never played on the last map, saying it was bad is an understatement if you want to compare it to this one. At least 80% of the settlements around the RoB were wiped out completely and abandoned. There were only a few strong players left standing, that ruled the hearthlands and did whatever they wanted to. There was no trade, there weren't any friendly neighbours, I can go on and on, but I think you get the point.
We don't expect this treaty to last forever, but if we can make it last for something like a month then that will be a great achievement. If we can make it last beyond that, then that's even better, but we'll come to that when the time is there.
