things going missing

Postby Nemu » Thu Dec 24, 2009 1:36 am

i just started out a few days ago and a few times i have loged in now to find something gone, a full drying frame, a cupboard full of random things...
i cant imagine that something built and only a couple days old would rot or something and just disappear on its own.
i have it all in a claim and a stick wall around so someone with vandalism skill must have come in and done it and then rebuilt the wall?
i have nothing of value to someone with such high skills so why? :<

the drying frame itself was gone? or the skin was gone and the drying frame remained? drying frames are, in fact, extremely weak, especially if they're not on paved tiles. and the cupboard was outside? i hear they don't last long outside, they're intended to be indoor furniture.

the frame was gone
the other 2 frames i have remain

it is outside
is there no warning at all that something might be destroyed? i notice things go red when they are damaged but none of my stuff is going red

cupboards only take one hit to disappear. Drying Frames take 2.

Drying frames seem to have certain issues with the decay hits. Some of them are gone after a day, some of them last for weeks.
I dunno about the hitrate when destroying them though, I bring both cupboards and frames down with one hit.

drying frames on paved tiles seem to take 2 decay hits, the ones on unpaved tiles i think are gone after the first one.

Drying frames seem to disappear at random, sometimes. I don't think it's always player related.

He's referring to decay hits, not hits like a player striking them. Anything sitting outdoors will take decay hits at random, and some take very few. Drying racks and Cupboards are the most prone to being suddenly destroyed this way.

Yeah, some cupboards will last outside for weeks on end. Others will decay within a few hours after you've built them. Just depends on what gets randomly chosen by the decay system and what doesn't.
