I would think Sodom would normally post things on the forum (not always immediately) if they were to conduct such but then again, the Ironcliff battle says otherwise though. Also where was Bottleneck at when all of this was happening?

Even if ingame 'enemies' it is indeed sad to see anyone quit, even if temporarily.

I'm sure you would say otherwise to a few people, though, at least within game.

Though I'm curious, after all of this is over and a reset is imminant, what would be the emotions and feelings of the player afterwards? Do they carry onto outside of the game or will they speak with each other of it in jest? it does give me the impression that for many, they will reminisce their in game feud and talk about it as if they just completed an large-scale chess battle.

That really depends on the player I guess. Chak and me were able to join Wayneville and Innsmouth/Xanadu/whatever after world 2. Being former arch-enemies that was quite an achievement and first there were some resentments, but now we are all best friends :P (what is left of those factions from world 2 anyway). Others tend to hold grudges, like Rage who never forgave me for not taking him to Sodom.

The situations were thrown to ingame are all based on what we want to do.

As it stands I'm not sure how people view Sodom whether as the good guy or the bad guy but next world without fail I plan on being the bad guy, if that means that I end up fighting some of the people I know now? So be it. It's a game, nothing to ruin a friendship over. I've played 'against' many friends in many games whether we became friends in the game or were friends before hand, if it's someone I consider a 'friend' I don't let a game get in the way. Likewise if I ended up in a village with some of my 'enemies' I wouldn't see a problem there either.

Can't speak for anyone else but I'd always think fondly back on such memories; the people we know make up our lives. What is life, let alone a game, without its outstanding events and individuals?

This thread illustrates so many broken and/or bad game mechanics. :|

I had barely played at all this world, managed to get maybe 250k total lp while logging in an hour or two at most per month. I had just logged in and was about to be invited by an alt to the village so one of the guys logged on to it and invited me. I villageported there since I didn't have a hearthfire and saw the alt get brutally murdered by some dudes who had just appeared from the signpost. I tried logging out but it was apparently too late. Let me know when the game is less broken and I'll probably play again, until then, fuck this gay world.

It's all going down, down, down. Isn't it?
If raiding a village and killing 6 of its inhabitants is all it takes to wipe out a major faction, then I'm truly disappointed.

Dunno about other guys, but I was asleep. AFAIK this thread is the first place any of us hear about this. But just FYI we wouldn't have gotten involved even if we did know, since we ain't got any beef with either party.

Anyway, I think that AD could've handled things better here. If I was looting a seemingly abandoned place and somebody suddenly logged in I'd talk to him rather than shoot him.

I always read in forum the usual propaganda against russians, treating them like griefers and thieves, I have never believed all of this, because you can't judge a whole community by the acting of a bunch of players. Russians have given here a tactical lesson. This episode is a demonstration of maybe much of "major factions" or "self-proclaimed pros" have feet of clay, the forum is just a showcase...

I'd rather do that too, but... why the goons "let's hunt players for the lulz" iniciative is not part of the discussion? I understand Sotsa's first post from the perspective of humour and fun, indeed this is a game! But it seems that we are questioning only the non-major faction's raids when majors can do whatever they want.
