Just read the large text if this is too long.

Actually, it turns out, haven-res has stayed the same. it's actually haven.jar that has changed. I've hosted a modified version of haven.jar on my server: [Link removed, superseded by Spiff. New link: link]
Just place it in your client folder.

For people who don't want to mess around, I've also provided a full download of the gilbertus client, with the better haven.jar and the fixed run.bat: link. [Now with spiff's updated version]

How I did it: I extracted haven.jar, and compare the contents of the old haven.jar vs the new haven.jar, and the old haven.jar vs gilbertus' haven.jar. Then I copied over all files which had changed in the new vs old, but weren't changed in gilbertus vs old.
Here's a list of what I copied:
Code: Select all
Files haven new/haven/BuddyWnd$10.class and haven old/haven/BuddyWnd$10.class differ
Files haven new/haven/BuddyWnd$11.class and haven old/haven/BuddyWnd$11.class differ
Files haven new/haven/BuddyWnd$12.class and haven old/haven/BuddyWnd$12.class differ
Files haven new/haven/BuddyWnd$13.class and haven old/haven/BuddyWnd$13.class differ
Files haven new/haven/BuddyWnd$14.class and haven old/haven/BuddyWnd$14.class differ
Files haven new/haven/BuddyWnd$5.class and haven old/haven/BuddyWnd$5.class differ
Files haven new/haven/BuddyWnd$6.class and haven old/haven/BuddyWnd$6.class differ
Files haven new/haven/BuddyWnd$7.class and haven old/haven/BuddyWnd$7.class differ
Files haven new/haven/BuddyWnd$8.class and haven old/haven/BuddyWnd$8.class differ
Files haven new/haven/BuddyWnd$9.class and haven old/haven/BuddyWnd$9.class differ
Files haven new/haven/BuddyWnd$BuddyInfo$3.class and haven old/haven/BuddyWnd$BuddyInfo$3.class differ
Files haven new/haven/BuddyWnd$BuddyInfo$4.class and haven old/haven/BuddyWnd$BuddyInfo$4.class differ
Files haven new/haven/BuddyWnd$BuddyInfo$5.class and haven old/haven/BuddyWnd$BuddyInfo$5.class differ
Files haven new/haven/BuddyWnd$BuddyInfo$6.class and haven old/haven/BuddyWnd$BuddyInfo$6.class differ
Files haven new/haven/BuddyWnd$BuddyInfo$7.class and haven old/haven/BuddyWnd$BuddyInfo$7.class differ
Files haven new/haven/BuddyWnd$BuddyInfo$8.class and haven old/haven/BuddyWnd$BuddyInfo$8.class differ
Files haven new/haven/BuddyWnd$BuddyInfo.class and haven old/haven/BuddyWnd$BuddyInfo.class differ
Files haven new/haven/BuddyWnd$BuddyList.class and haven old/haven/BuddyWnd$BuddyList.class differ
Files haven new/haven/BuddyWnd.class and haven old/haven/BuddyWnd.class differ
Files haven new/haven/KinInfo.class and haven old/haven/KinInfo.class differ
Files haven new/haven/OCache.class and haven old/haven/OCache.class differ
Files haven new/haven/OptWnd.class and haven old/haven/OptWnd.class differ
Files haven new/haven/Session$RWorker.class and haven old/haven/Session$RWorker.class differ
Files haven new/haven/Session$SWorker.class and haven old/haven/Session$SWorker.class differ
Files haven new/haven/Session.class and haven old/haven/Session.class differ
Files haven new/META-INF/HAVEN.DSA and haven old/META-INF/HAVEN.DSA differ
And here's a list of what changed between old and new, but I didn't copy because it also changed between old and gilbertus. If I would copy that over, I might overwrite gilbertus' modifications.
Code: Select all
Files haven new/haven/MapView$3.class and haven old/haven/MapView$3.class differ
Files haven new/haven/MapView$4.class and haven old/haven/MapView$4.class differ
Files haven new/haven/MapView.class and haven old/haven/MapView.class differ

This method should work for pacho's/gothfox as well.
Please note that I am not taking over development of the custom client or anything. All I did was shuffle around some files.

Thanks to Buch for the original explanation that it could be made to run by just copying the Session*.class files.

Thanks alot. One question, you cannot see the names of kins popping up over their head with this client. Is this a common problem with gilbetus or did that happen with the update? In any case, how to fix it?

Thanks man. I did all of that as well. Just, ant decided not to work last night :)
And, Burg, gilbertus' client hasn't done that at all iirc. Don't think he ever added it in.

Not everyone is a computer nerd on the internet, i really dont wanna mess around with codes and stuff that i know nothing about, nor have any clue how to.

One man can change it, intead of every single player must sit around and try to figure out how to change it risking messing stuff up.

I wish the default client would atleast have possibility of fullscreen for times like this *wink wink* ;). I just cant bare to play at all wile waiting for an update of the custom clients, not with that tiny client window it is just horror.

next time try being polite when you ask for help from the computer nerds

Happened with the update, apparently. According to Avu:
Avu wrote:<Avu> the ones I can see [on the screen are still visible on mouseover] but it seems I can see only non villagers like that
<Avu> the ones in the same village is like I don't have kinned at all

Anyway, it's sort of usable atm, and SuperSpiff is actually porting the source code line by line, which should solve this problem. So I guess you'll have to wait until he's done :)

Funny how people are always demanding stuff and expect it to be done immediately. Especially from people who do this in their free time with no consideration whatsoever.

Also, thanks Mqrius and Buch, you made my day :D
