Animal tracks/scents?

Postby Robertzon » Fri Jan 28, 2011 11:45 pm

Quick idea:
Would be good to hunt bears/boards/deers and such if you could track them on foot, would help newbies to avoid animals too so there will be less whining on forums =D
The scents would dissapear in 5-10min or so to prevent whole map being full of the tracks
I don't know if it has suggested before,if it is then close the topic.

has been suggested. you should really do a search before posting, although me and pretty much everyone else does the same thing. ;)

animal tracking would great. Per*Exp to see Animal Tracks, but only if you have Hunting, and maybe a Tracking skill. Tracks could be picked up like Crime Scents and used to track in on the animal. HOWEVER, Rabbits and Chickens should be the hardest to track, and Bears the easiest, with the other in between. Why? Because a bear is a big motherfucking animal and a rabbit is a little itty-bitty bunny wabbit. And besides, someone with low Per*Exp probably has low combat stats, and would want to avoid Bears and Boars as much as possible.

It would also serve as a good introduction to the scent system for newbies.

Persistent animals, animals leaving scents and other ways to make hunting and the enviroment more interesting have been discussed before. The devs like the general idea, so hopefully we will see it in game someday.
