the game is not all about the violence, hate and harshness of real world. but its more about human nature and society.
you can always choose to go Mahatma Gandhi and never use violence, or go Genghis Khan and rule the world by war.
the difference is, this world is not as sophisticated as real world, and you can reincarnate right after your death with all your memory, your claim and friends, and some of your LPs back as well. (its a game after all.)
it may take you a while to get used to this concept, but once you start seeing it, youll find it interesting too.
is going "peaceful" actually possible without having no force and no power? what is the price for your goal?
how can media (for this game, the forum) influence people's mind?
regarding the "About" article, i believe the devs did talk about their policy on this free PVP even if you didnt see it.
every player who spawns will interact and affect your game life in many ways. its the players' choice that makes this game going, not the scripted NPCs nor devs' prejudiced systems on what should be justice.
you settle at one place, but your existence there affects your neigbors directly, and others indirectly. because your obtaining some resources means less or lower quality resources for others. your neighbors who used to get those at higher quality may not like the fact that they arent getting what they used to get. also, your neigbor may start cutting down trees and change your environment. you also change your own and your neighbors' environment by settling down, buildng your housing and working your way out to develop your charactor. and then you decide how to solve this. some choose to fight, some choose to talk, some just give up and move away.
once you understand how your own play affects other players and vice versa, youll find yourself making friends too
