Nah. Just all these changes make things a bit more non-obvious. Everyone is muddling through it.
Opinions expressed in this statement are the authors alone and in no way reflect on the game development values of the actual developers.

it's non-obvious because there's no way to 'check' wtf is going on ..

"did i discover this? no, that? hmm"

.. it's like a spider web of discoveries that seems to be confusing a lot of people already.. If the game had more info in a tooltip it would make more sense. Say you're looking at a recipe for something, and when you hover over each item, you could see if you've discovered it yet, or even making all the recipes you *could* have currently based on skills learned in the game with a red tint on them in the menu until they are unlocked, perhaps with a popup when you look at the recipe to show you what ingredient still needs to be discovered, something to point people in the right direction.

Up to now people have had to resort to coming to the forum to find out the basics of this game.. and i don't really feel thats right. Eh, now that i think about it.. this game would be pretty darn difficult to play without the wiki for example, not knowing the skill tree, what unlocks what.. etc. When i first started playing in W5, i was walking around with a few curiosities in my bag because i didn't even realize thats what they were.. they should be labeled as such somehow... I know this skill system was put in place for a reason, and i agree with that.. i just think it feels like it's half implemented with all the confusion it created, and still creates.

Beh, didn't want to rant like this but oh well..

It is still an alpha game, im sure the finished product will have more tooltips on abilities and items. (to an extent of course, not knowing what stuff does is kind of fun at the start =p)

vinegar from barrel to winebottle (pottery - glassmaking - sand - kiln), equip winebottle with vinegar, insterines and a Jar (pottery - clay - kiln), then lit a cauldron filled with water and make rennet (craft - cooking - ingredients), fill milk ( farming - animal husbandry - clover - aurochs - or having cow, bull and calves) in curding tub (lumberjacking - log - carpentry - board) , fill rennet to it, have cheese tray (lumberjacking - log - carpentry - board) ready - get curd, fill in cheese tray - now you should finally be able to build cheese racks - but prolly much earlier ;)
