People don't just spawn out in the middle of nowhere or next to well established greifers who hate new players so much they kill them on sight, in real life. People tend to be born in an established community safe enough to allow them to be raised and grow up with half a chance at life.

But it sounds as though you and your friends decided to begin the game on your own instead of joining an established community, so how is this relevant?

Yes, wow you replied quickly. I edited my previous post to explain the problems we've found with that system so far.

Currently, we seem to have established a resemblance of peace with the surrounding "warring" villages where we are at. We shall see how long this "peace" remains. We still feel very much at the mercy of the long-term players of course, and any further criminal behavior will of course embitter us worse towards the game and community as a whole. We shall see. :D

You'll probably find a local militia and/or relations with a greater power more dependable than the good nature of strangers.

Yeah, starting a whole new civilization shouldn't be trivial. If you want the protection of society in your newbie days, you should join an established society.

Excellent point. However, neither is easily found in this game yet based on my friend's and family's experiences so far after trying this game off and on for the last few years. We keep looking though. :|

I like this idea, but permadeath is one of the things that make HnH unique, taking it away would take aways its uniqueness.
I would something like this to be made though, HnH PVP server?(No permadeath + everything else you suggested)

I haven't actually played UO, but from what I've read it seems that watering down is what destroyed it.

Some people like hardcore open PvP. Why shouldn't they get a niche game of their own? There's more than enough other MMOs for those that don't like it.

Played UO 'Second Chance' or whatever, was pussified as fuck. Everyone who said UO was like HnH but 'finished' was a fucking liar because the game was shit.
Played about 2 weeks, was never killed, was newbie as hell, you start in a town (what kind of pussy shit is this).

HnH is a game that you play to be cool and hard and die, and kill, and have fun, and that's that. Not to run to a 'safe zone' like a little bitch when you're getting ganked.

If superguards didnt spawn on top of you in Mortal Online it would be fun dodging them. Back when I still played you pretty much exploded when players started shouting for one

(or they scream exploit! to a gm when you attack from the rooftops even though the guards can still get you there)
