Like all politics, it boils down to money. The stronger Russian players are doing everything in their might to keep the general Russian population away from the free market, so that they have no choice but to buy from them at extortionate prices. Just the other day I read on H&H.ru how Portgas and Co killed someone for the terrible crime of trading with non-Russians. The whole Russia vs everyone else thing was started and is being aggressively maintained (seriously, you should read the things they say about the bourgeois bogeymen) by a bunch of thugs hell-bent on exploiting the common Russian players. So yeah, it's basically Russian Mafia.
I can say the same about Pandemonium - they are claiming the SG - the rivers and lakes and force you to leave scents just to board your boats and travel. I don't even want to start about the forageables inside the banner claims... which cover so much grounds it gets ridiculous.

A tiny little pick on all of you who use the cord communism so freely - you don't know what you're talking about. There never was communism. Only socialist government or socialist regime if you want to call it. Now we have capitalist regime all over the world. And socilism and communism are 2 entire different things. Socialism is government capitalism. Communism is not even necessarily based on monetary economy...

I think you got this wrong. Such thing never happened afaik (and I am pretty well informed).

Woo, trespass scents, scariest thing ever.

Picking up forageables on claim does not leave any kind of scent.

Congratulations on making stupid post full of invalid points, kiddo.

You dont leave scents by grabbing forageables inside claims. That basically makes your post redundant.

Also, what if they want to claim the entire SG? The world is big you know... I even remember Tiny Cave (or something along the lines) in w4. It was close to my place so I passed boating near it several times, they had around an entire SG covered in banners/statues, and they were cool guys with no intentions of killing/griefing/kicking people out etc.

Yeah it's a pain, but I'll bet there aren't many petty thieves in that area. The Pandas themselves may commit crimes, but other than them the majority of the riff raff will be dead or run off. Get on good terms with them and you'll be allowed to live about as peacefully as possible in this game.

Side note about village claims: If a village is getting aggressive claim wise in your area, just pop up your personal claim to cover your entire living space and preferably out to the water. Personal claims over-ride village ones, so it lets you ignore them entirely. Sure they can nuke your claim if they've got the Auth to do it, but a good natured claim like that would probably be left alone.

Making your claim fucking huge so they cant override it is a bit aggresive too. Specially if you didnt try to talk with some of them before.

Not treating them as carebears, but if you dont hit them/their allies, I'm fairly sure they are guys that can do diplomacy fair enough. Specially if you're a solo hermit in the area.

For a village like the Panda's you'd need at *very* large claim to try and prevent them from nuking it. At least 500k LP, probably more like 1mil to ensure it stays. A claim covering your place out to the water for your average hermit would only run 100-300k at most. I'm not really sure if the panda's would even consider that a speed bump lol.

Ah, but that's how it is living near a world power. you see, we need to claim things, to claim things we lead banners there. To destroy the banners, we lose authority.
Losing authority is not desired, because there are fuckers out there making claims larger than 200x200, and we'll need all we can get to one day declaim them.
