I understand it's hard for you guys too see how casuals look at this game.
I'm guessing the diminishing return comes in effect when I stand up to someone who has 600 UA with my 400 UA for example.
Now for a casual player it is hard to catch up to 600 UA. I'm sure people had that much UA and stats over 400 before I even reached 150 UA. In this case I can just sit back and watch my ass get handed to me by a guy who GRINDS more.

I agree I could stand a chance against a no-life grinder if I spent a lot of hours grinding too. But as a casual, impossible. The difference, even tho the diminishing returns, is just too big.

PS: I'm not requesting this to be fixed/changed or anything, just saying.

Yes, but that is not the point. Of course a casual player will never catch up, because he shouldn't. That is what makes him a casual player. No need to even discuss this then.

I agree that players who play a lot should have an advantage against casuals, but not this much. They already have an advantage of (usually) having more knowledge about combat system and better quality stuff and equipment.
No need to also let them grind lp and stats to impossible values.

burg, there is no skill value i can grind to stand up against a seasoned fighter. UA means nothing when it comes to practice. And at this point i really don`t know where to find one:
A pair of noobs may beat each other with no gain.
Any veteran fighter that can train given noobs will kill them for lulz and drama and their pants perhaps.

And still i like this system in a strange s/m way.

Spar, man, how do you think the rest of us learned how to fight? You don't need a veteran sparing partner, two newbs figuring out things on each other can go a long way.

As for the whole grinding thing, just imagine how horrible it'd be if the griefers could make a combat-capable character in a couple of days.

Also the sqm means that while there is a cap, there are diminishing returns. So someone with 400 UA only has a weight twice that of someone with 100UA, despite spending 16x the LP on UA. This is true of almost all formulae in the game (which is what Koru means when he says about math formulas).

He will also have larger amount of str/agi/con. Not to mention better equipment.

All of which also have the sqm involved... The UA was just *one* example.

Well sparring is ok. Virtual hp for items in sparring would be great though.
And maybe some guide for what main goals in pvp before the final strike. Such as gain advantage/ip/def/attack meters. Dunno.
Dataslycers guide is ok but human is smarter than average bear :(

The main goal is to land a hit that does *any* damage while still having enough defence to not get counterhit. Once you start hitting you start gaining advantage, and it's all downhill from there.

Really dudes? Really?

Want that guide? Make your own damn guide.

1)How do you think everyone else learned? Practice. You don't need a sensei although it helps, what you need is a sparring partner to learn on, some goddamn critical thinking to look at all the skills (yes it's daunting and I barely knew shit and learned all the basics from Data instead ; but you don't need that, many of us didn't learn that way)
2)If PvP was basic knowledge, there would be no 'good', it would just be countering tactics, you want that sorta endgame, make it yourself, I sure as hell don't want it.
3)There's always new stuff to learn in PvP, as Nao constantly proves
4)You can ALWAYS catch up with skills/stats, it doesn't seem like it, but with with the way LP works you can bet your fucking ass you can catch up.
5)FEPs are just as easy to catch up, how about you try.

Don't complain if you can't catch up when you play casually, you're just not playing hard enough.

Hard enough? More like not spending enough hours on.
