Well, if people would bother acting smart and do a search first, then we wouldn't get this.

Guys, I need serious help on this. After starting world 6, people have all black skills within a week, whereas I have barely gotten Yeomanry. What am I doing wrong, and does it have anything to do with the fact that I'm a hermit? I only have 11 int, and I also have a ton of curios requiring 24 + hrs. (I raid ants and don't get anything, so stop suggesting it lol)

wrong thread...but

sometimes you get unlucky with anthills and get nothing(I got 6 straight empties today) then sometimes you get really lucky(I got ant empresses from 2 straight raids today 2nd 1 came out with a queen and 3 soldiers had me all giddy and I'm never giddy)

if you don't have yeomanry in a maximum of 2 days you've done something horribly wrong, thats expected your first time through(when I started this game my first guy played a week before getting killed and never got yeomanry, my 2nd(non inheritance) had it in 3 days), there is a huge learning curve here. the thing to do here isn't to ask us what to do, but tell us what you're trying to do so we can point out the flaws...if you ask us what to do you'll have 20 different people telling you 30 different things.

so go to the nooby question thread write out what you're doing, and your plan for this world and we can possibly point out where you making your biggest mistakes.

Eh, all I was even trying to do was get some LP, and live a happy hermit life. Maybe make a one man village  , but I overlooked stats. After reading Sevenless' guide, I now know its gonna be another 2 months to get 20 mm, 20 exp, etc. because of the 24+ curios I got.

Use this: http://ringofbrodgar.com/wiki/Curiosity_Table

Sort by the column labeled "LP/Hour/Weight" in descending order (Pearl should be at top). Stick by that list in that order as best as possible. If you're online, you should be swapping in and out cone cows, dandelions, etc. If you're offline, try to time you curios to when you're going to be on next (hard early on, I know, but try). Going over or under a little is ok, but you want as little empty time in your mentory as possible.

if that takes you 2 months you're pitiful...my stats are all low, but I have both those at 30 even after starting a day late. again this isn't really the thread for this, try the "Please Ask Simple Questions Here" thread.

as far as curios, the only thing with a long study time you should even consider using early is an itsy bitsy's web. raid ant hills every chance you get, notice on that list MagicMan just pointed you to that 3 of the top ten are from ant hill raids. notice also that dandelions and conecows are in that same top ten, all of these are easy things to get. if you're having trouble with ant hills, just cruise around in your boat til you see 1 near the edge of a river(or close enough that you can run back to your boat) and raid then get the ants wet so they'll leave you alone then go raid again. once you get to 10 ua and have leather armor/pants/boots you can raid an anthill without having to move til you're done.

I think you're too focused on getting yeomanry and setting up a camp, early game(day 1) should be all about exploring and gathering and once you've explored and gathered you'll have the basics for a small camp...

edit: finishing up here:
your first hours in game should be focused on finding a good spot for a camp, not for setting up a camp. start exploring find a heath grassland or moor, once you have found atleast one ofthose in an area find a nearby forest both coniferous and broadleaf. once you find a spot with those terrains nearby you're usually pretty good, except when it comes to clay and water(worry about that later since you have no idea what you're doing). if you have both types of forest nearby you'll have access to all types of trees, if you have heath moor or grassland nearby you'll have access to all types of animals. now without you actually telling me what you're trying to do I can't get into any specifics here, but good luck and hope it helps.

This isn't a discussion thread unless you have new information to add (and you best use search before adding anything). All of your answers are usually on the wiki: http://ringofbrodgar.com/wiki/Haven_and_Hearth_Wiki

If the answer isn't there (or you're just missing it), say so in your post.

I cant bother reading thru 73 pages now but i noticed that Gold Egg was not on this list, i found a Gold Egg world 5, in one of my Chicken Coops, i didnt have enugh int to use it in my study at the time and the text saying i didnt have enugh points to use it came up when trying to put it in my study so im pretty sure it can be used as a Curio. Have no clue how much LP it would have given.
