Except the guide is extremely outdated (4 years) and is or will be obsolete due to Haven 2 coming out. Unfortunate I don't think anyone has written a basic combat guide. A crucial changes that needs to be highlighted:

Flex now cost advantage so it is not something you want to use casually anymore.

Let's say it's "somewhat dated." Some things do need to be fixed (such as flex and the guides on animal hunting changed due to these tweaks), the rest is still pretty accurate. For that matter, the animal hunting is all that is really useful here as the rest is fairly well organized on the wiki now: http://ringofbrodgar.com/wiki/Combat_Actions. (Note for newer players: I didn't fully browse the page and links for accuracy. It is a community ran site, so information is only updated if players know the information and someone logs in to correct it.)
