W6 Doing troll experiments. Any requests. (Update W7 vid)

Postby Xcom » Sun Feb 03, 2013 12:28 pm

We just spawned in a lvl 1 troll. Currently running experiments on it. If anyone reads this within an hour or so and wants us to run a specific experiment on him post quick, we will be watching this thread for the next coming hour or so.

Currently we have planned to test if he can bash BW and P-claim-idol.

We are running colision size on him. Checking res name and other data.

We are also checking his speed and combat moves and maneuvers.

We already confirmed you can bash bws with a troll. Twice.

As promised our video is up after a long delay. It was my first edit so it took a bit of time. Also had allot of issues uploading to youtube. Quality a bit crappy as I had issues with upload.

Troll fight at 36:00

http://youtu.be/4bqF6AesJsE

Experiments we managed to do.

Personal claim idol: indestructible
Mineholes: indestructible
Brick wall, Pally & destructible objects: instant bash
Statues and authority objects: not completely confirmed but in our test indestructible

Aggressive similar to bear and boars, agros on players in line of sight.
Collision size similar to bears 16 x 16 subtiles large.
Running speed similar to bears.
Is not affected by cavins.

Dmg averaging from 25 dmg - 250 dmg.
Combat move giving him +4 advantage instantly, -4 to the player. Troll will only do this combat move if player has less then 2 advantage. But achieving +2 advantage is close to impossible in a fair fight, maybe if you kite with call down thunder and manage to land 2 Sidestep without getting a moving punch on you or before he does his move.

Troll spawning seams a bit random as well. We haven't seen a single troll after mining for a year. Although I must add that we do more area mining then shaft mining. This troll as seen in other pictures on the forum was spawned in a shaft leading to believe that he spawns only in a shaft. By shaft I mean that he needs void tiles around him to spawn in on similar to how mine holes need void tiles to spawn. So if you want to spawn in a troll try to shaft mine.

Thx vm for sharing, it is fun and also it is nice to learn. :D

Edit: I see the troll stopped trying to get through when he "saw" the boulders. Do you know if bears act the same way?.
What do you think that would happen if someone makes a line of statues/banners and places a line of boulders by it?.

I imagine H&H players making lots of cellars now. LOLOLOLOL

well if you will act with bear in the same way it will also stand and stay still

the trick to bash is to force him repath while you are running away, what i was trying to do.

Its not on the vid but i was running about 5 mins with him around tanning tub, trying to force him to bash trough like it is happening with bear, nothin happened.
As it seems troll bash only when he doesn't have other choice, if he can walk around he won't ever bash object, also it appears that this trick works only for objects that can be conditionally bashed (like statue) and that it works only on taimed animals (not yet confirmed).
