Wow, a united team of players from the US. Nah, it'll never happen...

Though if it did, I'd proudly join and fight.

Look at Brodgar.

There are good people in the world, you just gotta find them.
Of another era.

Thanks for the interest guys.

The next thing that needs to happen is that interested people PM me with some information about themselves.

In the event of a world reset, I can send out some group PMs and we can get the ball rolling.

Please remember that I am especially interested in hearing from people who want in on being early keep residents. I am going to be intentionally exclusive about this. I really want a list of strong players who can help keep everybody else alive. Who can quickly get out and about hunting, finding good Q material, building a brick wall etc. These are the people who get to live in the inner keep. I.E. If I wasn't the guy who had the idea in the first place I wouldn't even let my own self join, because I am a complete scrub. I can't fight and I don't know enough about various elements of the game (although I am learning).

So, yes, I will be making an initial distinction. There will be preferential treatment.

People who go to the top of the list must meet the following requirements.

One. They have an established forum history with a solid reputation.
Two. They are experienced in general.
Three. They are experienced in fighting.

If I can get a half dozen people like this we are good to go. More is better obviously. Everybody else, please still feel free to PM me, just know that I would only share the hearth secret of the city location at the beginning if I can be reasonably sure that you will not bring trouble on us. Also, when the brick wall goes up, there is a good chance that you may find yourself on the outside of it. At least for a while. That doesn't mean that we don't need a lot of helpers who can chop wood, search for ore and clay, and what have you. After the central keep is set up and secure (hopefully within a week or so of the world starting) we can open up the town to anybody who wishes to move in, just the same as Brodgar. At that point, there is no restriction at all, so long as you don't cause trouble.

Let me just simplify the above.

There are three groups of potential people who want to move in.

A. People who can be trusted and are also experienced and good at fighting.
B. People who can be trusted and are not that experienced or good at fighting.
C. Random strangers, people who are not that well known.

I want people from groups A and B to PM me, and tell me which group they think they belong to. Group A will get to live in the keep. Group B will help with work.

Group C will need to wait until after the keep is finished before they can move to the town and set up their own home in a designated plot.

At the beginning it is all hands on deck to get a secure base ready. Please be aware of this from the beginning. Especially people in group B, who might put in a lot of work, only to then not get to enjoy living inside the keep. Remember that the point is to help build a different type of city. Those fighters are there to protect everybody else. They need to be the strongest and best protected for that reason. If they die we all die. Their security is our security. Eventually people in group B will have several more layers of defense between them and the outside, so their work will have a considerable reward. That will only happen however if the keep is capable of protecting the town while it grows, and for that we need your sacrifice early on. The prize is a plot in what would become a top tier ring, and first in line for living in the keep if a space opens and you can demonstrate you are up for the task martially.

The only issue with open cities like Brodgar is that any resources in the large radius will be RAPIDLY claimed, and not for use of the city, but personal use. Where if you started elsewhere and traveled more, you could find the resource you need, until a week or two in. Then everything is claimed anyways. The only reason I see living in Brodgar's layout is for the lolz, and socializing for a few hours, before someone gets KO'd or grieved.

What you do is put a pclaim that does
not cover the node, but makes it so
that it comes 1 tile from the node.

Then you make a village Claim that
comes 1 tile from the node.

Or you put a claim over the node and
leave a Runestone with a HS or a post
on the forum with co ords, picture, and
the Hearth Secret to the claim owner.
Then you simply allow white names to
have full access
(Public node created)

However as I have explained, MT is not going to immediately be an open city. This is why I am recruiting people for a closed building session to get things going. Yes, this would included securing resources for the sake of the town. Some of these might be restricted to keep members so that they can have the best equipment early as possible, but subsequently priority can be decided according to which ring you live in (which would also have a correlation to how early you joined the town, and how much you helped it get started).

If world 7 doesn't have things like village permission management, it probably wouldn't be worth playing.
