Is one of those idiots you? Judging by the first reply, with the whole degrading paved roads, and all.

Anyway, liking the bags, can't wait until the other, already drawn-up stuff gets coded in.

Avu wrote:Shift planting doesn't work with the bags and even if it did you still have to actually sort all the seeds across all the bags so the game will plant what you want (the random seed quality from the same square is actually the tedium creator here). Scythes just decrease a small part of the time you spend farming. The largest part is and will remain the seed and container management. The harvest cursor is nice I give you that but again that doesn't solve the biggest problem of farming.

P.S. Autosort and move all drop all buttons would help farmers 100 times more than useless tiny bags. New content is always appreciated but sometimes that has to take a backseat and work on the interface even though it's boring.

Scythes and shift planting are both amazingly useful for farming in bulk. If they put in auto-sort and drop all ect what does the player even have to do? If you don't like messing around with sorting out nice seeds.... don't be a farmer! It's also unnecessary to sort out the Q of seeds if you are harvesting the crop to use, as the Q change is very minimal. If you're trying to develop High Q seeds to improve the Q of your fields, then it deserves a little bit of time and care.

You know why baked goods and linen have such high trading value even though they require very little investment? It's because nobody wants to be a farmer not because it takes high skill or stat requirement or anything else. All the people I see join the game go on hunting grind a little marksmanship and then go hunting level 10 bears. It's not even funny how easy hunting is compared to doing actual work in a village.

What would a farmer do if we had a proper interface not based on mind-numbing mouse destroying clicks? I dunno grind more flour, press more wine, use more stuff on herbalist tables. Farming is one of the most complex jobs and will remain so even with an easier interface. But I see you equate tediousness with actual gameplay and I fell sorry for you. If an improved interface would make some jobs too limited then maybe more things need to be added for that job to make sense not dismiss the interface improvement.

Also the you don't like don't do it argument; love that one the funny thing is someone has to do it because farming is and will remain one of the largest supplier of raw materials for other crafts. Let's all dismiss improvements to the game because we fear if we took out the artificial time drain it would fell hollow.

Some people enjoy farming and baking more than hunting.

IMO Bear hunting is currently popular 100% because of the stupidly high LP reward, period.

If the reward for killing lvl 10 bears was on the same level for producing quality 100 baked goods then I dare say farming would be a lot more popular.

I'm fairly convinced that the solution lies in removal / massive rework of the LP system, or in the short term, just making bears worth less LP.

Making all animals more dangerous for hunters and re-working the combat system might also have an impact, but so long as hunters have a massive character advancement advantage over non hunters it's going to be the number 1 occupation

8x8 wheat field = 64 tiles
18 LP for harvesting the tile = 1152
7 or 8 i think for planting it = 448-512
128 extra seeds (full nature of course) after replanting = 64 flour @100ish LP = 6400ish
64 flour made into bread @100ish LP = 6400ish
64 straw made into straw hats @200ish LP = 3200
17600 LP for harvesting 64 tiles of wheat and making bread and straw hats

i don't recall the exact numbers on flour or bread or hats, and of course higher quality is more LP. i do remember getting 20K+ for my fields though.

Holy shit. If your numbers are correct I'm going to have to actually do something with my ridiculous 15x15 wheat field.
