@Sarge, I get it that you are angry, but my comparison here is perfectly valid. This is J&L's game and you cannot just say the decision they made is wrong. Yet you try to.

No need to insult me just because you don't agree with an update made in the game ;)

Anyone should expect any bug they abuse to blow up in their faces randomnly one day. You can abuse the shit out of anything in the game, that is fine. But nobody has a right to complain then when they punish you for it.

Acting like you did not know this was a bug is just as useless as arguing you only used it for good. You went against intended game mechanics. The end.

It is very obvious that scent summoning someone to move your stuff around is not what the devs had in mind when they developed the scent system. This system is there to punish criminals. Nothing else. So you exploited it.

And even if you are not aware of this being an exploit or even if you argue it was very much necessary to use it does not give you any actual right to do so or to not be punished. The intended way of doing things is to sit your ass down at your computer and walk to that damn mine on level 5 everytime your inventory is full. That might be bad gameplay, but that is not the issue at hand.

I really have no idea why anyone is even arguing about this. If you are arguing like Sarge because he used the system to make up for another, sucky game mechanic then for gods sake make a C&I thread and explain what has to be changed. Then if it is good one of us will link it to the devs in the IP.

It really doesn't matter btw if there is other bugs and exploits in game. You cannot make an argument with their existence. As Potjeh said expect that oven to blow up in your face any day now. And guess what? If it does that is fine too and you have nor reason to complain about that either.

Wow, now I wrote a lot on a topic that actually doesn't even leave space for any argument ^^ The case is crystal clear imo.

Yeah and of course it is not a bug when you use twice less best-q-coal to make best-q-metal, same for tree pots etc. This is what ramones said - bugs can be used both in the way to make your life easier or to make some abusive things wich give you boost.

Now Ill disagree on this. I can find justification for ovens but smelters should be fixed.

Burg, insulting you wasn't my intention. It is however my opinion that your lengthy posts and the frequent inclusion of political movements, the evolution of language, the application of juidicial systems, historical events etc and how that can/could/does apply to this game and it's forum is an epic yawn fest and more often than not really does not apply for me, as it does for you.

I should also really by now have realised that you are blind to the opinion of others, or their arguments, when you have either invested in your argument or simply believe that your argument is superior. Even worse is that i don't think you even realise that you do this. You argue so that you can win an argument and not necessarily for the better of the actual subject matter.

It is blatantly obvious that I am not the only one who share 'my' opinion and neither are you with yours yet you choose to refuse that I even have a point, nevermind a valid one.

This game is broken as fuck and we do things, with the best of intentions to make it playable. I don't give a fuck if you think we should or not or if you think it's fair that those with pure intentions trying to circumvent an incomplete design or basic flaw get punished with those who choose to abuse it purely for gain. I have a right to share my opinion and I will do so. The manner in which I do so may not always be the best choice, but mostly again, I don't give a fuck.

I get your point, but imo it has nothing to do with what happened here. Btw for your purpose just put your damn hf in the mine and tp back and forth. Problem solved ^^

neither can i. can you elaborate please?
cause i had always seen you as one of the bad guys ;) and you know why.

I thought my point between bad and good guys was obvious. Its the whole exploiting aspect and if someone says that person who just want to use the mechanics in traveling purpose, so he does not boat for 15min is bad guy, that is pathetic. Ofcourse, compared to real bad guys who would summon themselves inside enemy walls, make slaughterfest etc.

I don't think I know why you have me as a bad guy, I can only assume. But I'm sure if you will want to, you will PM me about it so we don't spam the thread with it.

To return to subject, I still think that fixing such things (which is good!!!!) should be done asap, together will all other exploits, so we avoid being bad guys after the end of hard working day.

...like its fair to abuse the existing rules?

Where is it written, that summoning should only happen when person commits crime so you kill him?

Tonky you are acting like you never use any "exploits" for your own gameplay, which just help you to ease the process and speed time.

Scents are only left when comitting crimes. Read the development blog on scents if you want to be sure about that.

You really cannot seperate good from bad intention in a scenario like this. You cannot look inside people's heads. Wether the guy wants to just tp some fishies home to his buddies so they don't starve or wether he wants to set up a ram to kill a bunch of innocents is not tattooed on his forehead.

So the rules have to be universal. And the rule in this case is: Use the game mechanics as itended, because if you don't you never know what is going to happen. Probably nothing...but once every 3 years you randomly die!

I know Burg, but still, wouldn't you be pissed if that happened to you, wouldn't you want the same as I was asking, that this things are announced? Same thing as other exploits that cause the loss of developed char?
