Pixel Armies

Postby Agarrett » Fri Dec 18, 2009 8:55 pm

I found this epic forum game:

http://www.minecraftforum.net/viewtopic.php?id=4129&p=1

so I decided to take it here.

Pixel armies is just a simple game where you make a small little base on paint and you could say it is a turn based sandbox game. To start, simply say Declare! You have one hour to post your image or you are skipped to the next person:

Rules:

1. No racism in any pictures
2. No profanities in any picture
3. No obscene pictures
4. No resizing the map
5. Humanoids should be 1x2
6. Don't steal sprites!
7. Don't end the game, by drawing random nukes over other colonies... -_-
8. Please be reasonable! No spawning huge bases beside someone, and arming yourself with 9000 genetically altered soldiers.
9. Make your troops/units easily recognizable! (i.e. - Same colour, themed, etc)
10. Make sure the image loader you use doesn't resize the image to really big or really small. I found that WWW.IMGUR.COM with a PNG file extension works well.
11. You can reserve a place by saying declare! after someone says it, so you can start immediately after someone else finishes. Up to 2 people can use the reserve at a time.

This is the map:

If this game doesn't work out, I will just move it back to the minecraft forums. But I want to try it here.

Blue landed a small area via drop pods from a station in orbit. They set up a watch tower, began to dig, and created a small residential area. Supply crates were moved to the center of the area for easy access.

So, it's like visual roleplaying?
I'm guessing you have to declare EVERY action that's taken, such as food is delivered, a tower is built, some turrets are installed, etc?

Except all those things would be done in one turn. You can't make a massive base in one turn, but you don't have to take one turn just to make one guy go sleep in a bed.

Well, I declare then!
My men set up a domed base in the basin of the mountains.
It contains enough food for two weeks, and a computer. There is also a watchtower on the top, that will always be manned.

you have to wait for loopoo to finish...

After he finishes, you take the map he makes and expand your base onto it.
