How to make a sling?

Hi!

I' m new in H&H and I wanted to make a sling, but I can't. I have hunting, even archery. I've discovered leather and rope (spindly taproot). When I'm moving into "Craft -> Tools -> Ranged Weapons" I have only bow with arrows. Am I doing something wrong?

You need the skill leather working to make a sling.

I've seen a few veterans get really irritable at people for not checking the wiki. Scary!

Edit: On second thought, I don't see that explained anywhere on that page. Never mind.

Don't worry about it. It took me forever to understand how the wiki was laid out as well.

I figured, but being the derpy nublet I am, I often need it spelled out. I honestly don't remember how I made my first sling. It's been a while since I've had to start over.

The best one is have a section to each item that lists all the sub-skills needed to get it. Like for leather you need leather working but before that animal husbandry... That where most people get tripped up. Its nice to have your clickable links on recipe items but people unfamiliar may get off track in the process of reading. Maybe a list of direct skills and then prerequisites. I know its a lot of linking to each item but most questions really are how do I make this I have the skill it says, when they are missing a prerequisite.

And on page one please put "You must discover every item yourself to make most recipes or items." That would answer question number two most commonly occuring. lol

Those are good first step I think.

for each object you have a window on the right which tells you what items you need for crafting - click on that and you'll find what skills and other items are needed for those

if you'd drop in at sling page that you'll need Leather working skill you'd prolly experience players that need the full explanation for the whole process - hunting, butchering, drying, tanning and so on - do you want to explain on the sling page how to craft a stone axe you'll need for butchering too ?

Just grab a piece of paper and try to write down how you'd do the "sling process" - i guess you'd realize the way the RoB Wiki is done is a good way to do it

(not to forget different people had been putting some thoughts and discussions into it already)

i'm not into helping peoples lazyness not to read, search or look deeper into the RoB Wiki ... or even not going down to the roots of playing games: trial and error
