Ok now I get it lol

I was arguing under the assumption that you just went along with what the actual theme of the game is (Germanic/Slavic Mythology) rather than making up your own to fit your style of play.

Really? Future apocalyptic scenario? It's not even at the point where society was formed enough for it to collapse in to an apocalyptic scenario!

Anyways, that's where my concern over what you liked came from, I thought you knew this game already had a set theme about it which is why I am confused by your distaste for implementations that actually fit that theme.

Because I can differentiate between the two - one seems more 'real' than the other to me, I don't like seeing animals left abandoned in palisades, I have nothing against killing one for food, though I find deers difficult to kill, lol, it all boils down to personal taste at the end of the day.

Yes, now you have a point, I guess that is what I do to a certain extent.

Actually, tbh, I thought we all played games that fit our tastes. And just so you know, I do also like fantasy games, I played all the FF games and I loved them, here it's just about mixing the two in a game that I see as more realistic.

Nothing about any of this sounds fun to me.

Growing a char slot is a different matter if they don't take on the appearance of actual children and maybe that is more what the devs meant .... it's hard to comment really without more details on their thoughts regarding the matter.

No really, there's a reason why you can't kill children in Skyrim, why games such as Fallout have no children at all, and why characters in the TV version of Game of thrones are 10 years older than in the book. Some countries are really serious with child violence and the companies would be sued to no end.

We don't need to have that though. I'm up for raising children with a more abstract mechanic like we have with numen. At the end of the raising period you would get a new character slot counting as your descendant and that's it. I do like the concept of growing alts as children because it gives us another way to the game. I would have fun in trying to make my descendants survive the world.

And yeah, in Crusader Kings you're able to give away your children as hostages to make diplomatic deals, adopt others, send them to another country for education, and to even marry them to their own siblings. The children don't die if you die or stop taking care of them, they just reach adulthood with very crappy stats and become practically useless as lords/ladies.

Yes, I have no problem with it in a more abstract way as you describe and as in my last sentence, I do also like the idea of descendants in that kind of way. My concerns were passing an abandoned place with a couple of crying, starving children trapped inside and that type of thing, which if it isn't a problem for everyone, one would hope would at least be understood. So long as there are no dying children, I'm fine with it. :)

Yeah because fallout 3 is the first and only fallout ever.

Why are you even discussing kids anyway? There is no way in hell this will happen nor would it be fun if it did.

I'm talking about legal trends, it's not an absolute rule. Game companies tend to minimize their legal risks for obvious reasons but some do it anyway.
You can't kill children in fallout 3+. You can dig graves, rape prostitutes, be a professional cannibal, but you can't kill children. Fallout 1 and 2 had all the children removed right before the release of its European version precisely because of child protection laws.
