Wyrd shouldnt become "grind tastic". Spending it on lores (skills you buy once) is good... Spending wyrd on raising skills with a 'point buy system' isn't so great.
I can see wyrd being something that you can only "store" a limited amount of (perhaps based on psyche stats?) and being used to make tasks easier for a short amount of time IE. the task of going to another town to trade would be made easier if you spend wyrd and "march" your way there. or "I wan't to go out hunting tonight... but I dont want to hold a torch" you spend some wyrd to go into a hunter trance granting you enhanced vision or something along those lines.
wyrd shouldn't be used to get "better results" just to make tasks less hard.
On the subject of teleportation... well I dont really like it as it is now. If a march mechanic could be made fruitfull it would greatly enhance my suspension of disbelief. Teleportation just... doesn't fit, The way its done with roadsigns and travel wearyness is a good attempt to try and make it fit though! so kudos for that

, just if you can get rid of it and replace it with something beter... then I'll be even happier.
Perhaps fast travel could be something like a... "spirit" or "ghost" walk... you go into an unhurtable ethereal form... no collision... no being shot at as you go. something I also thought about was having... "thievish" or "guardish" characters have the abilty to build a roadblock.... a sort of totem that requires wyrd and resources and will kick people that travel by it out of their "ethereal" superspeed form. (the totem would either require "fuel" in the form of wyrd, or would have a lifespan)
anyway.. just my two copper

Edit: I do agree that the "cannot drown while swimming" sounds a bit tomuch, perhaps not being able to cross deep water is better... "the next map" does need Natural fjords (thats what you call a rivers crossing point right?) and/or bridges.
as a response to Jackard below this post. Perhaps a party could "pool" wyrd for a group march? IE. the marchers all donate some wyrd. and the group runs out as a whole when it is depleted.
