Thoughts on the further development of Haven & Hearth? Feel free to opine!

- Jumping up to high cliffs/jumping down from high cliffs is very unrealistic. Why not add using ropes or climbing skills instead?
- Why can't we carry a bucket of water in our actual inventory? [Solved] (To prevent abuse.)
- Why can't we lift most boulders?
- Why is there an in-game mini map available at all if it's clear the developers want this to be hardcore and likely use a map making skill anyhow?
- Why isn't rotating objects explained properly?
- Why are needed features never implemented in the official clients but left up to modders?
- As an example of above, why aren't people's usernames displayed constantly? It's incredibly hard to decipher who's who when the names go off the screen so quickly especially with many players in one area. [Solved] (They changed it in an update)
- We can color code usernames in the kin list, but why can't we have a feature to add notes about each person so we remember who they are? With so many players in this version it will be hard to keep track of who is who and it would be a nice feature to have instead of using a text document.
- Do the developers not want friends to play with each other in this game? Even if there was an official world map this version of H&H is very unfriendly in terms of meeting up with others. This is a genuine question, that I'm trying to understand clearly./So is it true party arrows will always be visible? [Solved](They implemented long range party arrows)
- Wouldn't it make more sense to remove the mini-map all-together and implement the map making skills easily accessibly for early game, because people will/are eventually making a world map anyhow because there's no other way to find each other and at least this can be a more proper game mechanic rather than resulting to third party tools & clients, wasting our time & essentially cheating.

- I would love to be able to add landmarks(Icon with some text where I want) to the mini map/map, it would be very useful for me, I wouldn't even mind if you had to learn a skill to do so.
- Why can't we scroll our chat UI, so we can get more than two private messages from 2 people? As it stands I can only view two PMs at a time. (Update helped this, at least partially.. as I still would like a draggable scroll bar to appear when we have more than two chats going instead of using key board shortcuts to scroll....)
- Why doesn't the username's light up & also make a noise or such so that we know people have sent us a new message in private messages? [Solved] (They added lit up usernames in an update)(Still hoping they add a sound to denote someone private messaged you, like for instance if you step away from the game for a moment or minimize the game, you hear the sound, and realize you should take a look.)
- Why are worms so rare compared to H&H 1?
- Will there be decorations and such like there were in Salem? I know not everyone is interested in them but I enjoyed it.
- Can you starve and take damage while offline? If so isn't this an oversight considering all of the crashes as well as server down time to implement updates? For instance you are starving near death, you go to cook food and they bring the server down to update before you can finish cooking/eating it.. [Solved](You can't starve to death while offline)
- Why can't we leave party chat even when we aren't in a party?
- Why can't we select a very large radius to "make level"? It seems we can only select something like a 31 by 31 radius.
- Why can't we dig our own cliffs easily, it seems so complicated? There needs to be a way around this without allowing people to abuse hunting...
- How does it make sense from a game play perspective to log into your claim and have aggressive animals attack you & knock you out immediately within seconds?
- Why don't we get learning points for discovering spit roasted meats? [Solved](Because they are end results and not components)
- Why can we only add branches to fireplaces only from certain angles? [Solved] (It's a bug)
- Why is there a woodcutting sound when cooking? [Solved] (They still need to make the sounds for it)
- If we have cosmetic hats, what's the point of using them if they do nothing? Why can't we wear them over our other hats so we can get the benefits of both?
- Why is there only one hotkey bar? I need to make use of more than 10 hotkeys..

Updated Again:

- Can't there be a toggle for allowing people access to your claim if they are in your party? There's certain times you may want someone in your party but don't want them on your claim..
- It's probably a bug, but people in my party sometimes say they see my X on the minimap even though I'm not even near them. (If they relog it fixes it)
- Why can't we stockpile feathers? We will end up with thousands of them and it's to much of a hassle to put them in containers taking up all that space.. [Solved] (They changed it in new update)
- Why can't we have a free camera mode? These sharp angles are sometimes very terrible and make it hard to see what you are doing in certain situations.
- Why can't we put two claims right next two each other without a gap in between them if we own both of them?
- Why can't we plant on a trellis when standing between two of them that are placed closed together?
- Why can't we hang items on the wall above the door in a house?
- Why can't we continue trying to pull a cart even if it's blocked & if we want to let go of it just right click on it?
- Why can't we be able to tell the quality of objects that have been built instead of trying to figure out the math formulas of the resulting products made with it?
- Why can't we pull carts faster realistically without lag while riding a horse?
- Why can't objects built in the game world, tell us what stats they are based on before being built like crafted items are?
- Why can't stone stockpiles be larger? If you have a mine or smelter going there will be hundreds/thousands of stones....
- Why does the exploration skill seem so worthless compared to the previous version of Haven & Hearth?
- Why can't we have an inventory automatic sorter button & storage automatic sorter button?
- Why can't we collect seeds while farming without them being mixed together thus ruining the qualities?
- Why can't we heal wretched gore?
- Add a way for us to drop held items onto the paper doll and switch them out with any other held items.(Will prevent us from dropping buckets in water when we already have two items held in our hands.)
- Fix drying frame models so they always show if something is in them, instead of them showing nothing when there are in fact items dried in the drying frame.

The game is fun so far, hope everyone is enjoying it.

I will likely add more in the future, thank you all for reading.

Balance reasons. It was OP as all hell in Haven 1.0 and completely defined combat.
- Why can't we lift most boulders?

They're essentially rock spawn points, so much like trees they don't appear to be movable. Liftable rocks will probably be available from other activities, such as digging out cellars.
- Why is there an in-game mini map available at all if it's clear the developers want this to be hardcore and likely use a map making skill anyhow?

They're making it less brutal on new players soon(tm).
- Why can't we turn chairs to face tables properly?

You can. Lift it and then right click the chair (or other object) to see how it'll be placed. While you're like that hold shift and scroll your mousewheel to rotate it.

Different priorities. Loftorb have always been slow to add UI changes.

It was an experiment and it didn't pan out. Expect this to be changed towards the friendlier in the near future.

You didn't answer everything I was asking about by the way, but I don't know if I edited it while you were replying already or if you don't know the answers to some of what I was asking, thank you for your reply though. :)

-That makes sense now about the water, thank you for explaining this.
-I know how game development works, and there's no good reason you've given that the boulders/rock spawns shouldn't be liftable.
-Do you know what the ideas are on making it less brutal for new players as you say?
-Thank you for explaining how to place chairs properly, but this is another thing that needs to be explained properly in the game, it's something that you could only figure out by luck in my opinion.
-Different priorities but they couldn't add someone like Ender to the team, even unofficiallyesque?
-Well I'm glad I'm not the only one that wants to be able to see people's usernames.
-Good to hear they are going to change meeting up with friends, what are their ideas on it currently?

I don't know the answer to everything so I left out comments that I couldn't respond to. The rocks are just a design decision, whether it's good or bad is hard to say without looking at the big picture and I'll be honest, my picture is covered by 4 palisade walls right now so I don't feel like I'm in a position to judge them on it.

Yeah, placing objects isn't intuitive. None of the in-game commands are. We could really use a formal list somewhere.

As for how they're making it less brutal and how they're allowing you to meet up with friends: More spaced out and larger spawn area so that you're not crowded out of resources the moment you start the game and likely party arrows or something similar so you know which direction you should head to to find your friends. The posts noting this are in private sections of the forum that I do not feel at liberty to post anywhere else unfortunately, so you'll have to take my word for it (which sucks, I know, you don't know me at all.) =(

With regard to boulders, they shrink from being chipped and at a certain size they can be lifted and moved.

Because they are too damn heavy. You can lift them once you chip at them, make them smaller.
