Please tell me that you didn't change the party system back to the stupidly long range version you used to have. I was loving this "Only if they're really close" thing. But now the arrows are visible stupid far away.

What a fucking idiot move. >.<

Oh well, I know plenty of others will love it, I'm just annoyed as hell that they caved to the whining.

As far as I know it was less 'caving to whining,' and more that Jorb realized the lack of party arrows was creating more issues than it solved. I personally was interested in seeing the kind of dynamics that no hearth spawning and no party arrows would create, but the stunningly small start area kind of quashed that. Anyhow, having already met up with my squad I don't have much of an opinion on the matter, but it doesn't seem that big of an issue.

The HF thing I hope stays, otherwise it's back to alt spam.

It's more that the large factions were already finding each other with no great problem, meaning that it was only the small guys that were getting screwed over. That being said, I enjoyed the experiment while it lasted, seeing people meet unknown strangers, and I kind of expected something like this. It's very likely that we'll do the same thing whenever we have a reset. :)

Spent entire day, morning to night trying to direct a friend to our village, only to eventually give up, was seriously not fun

Wasn't even sure if he even still wants to play the game after that but luckily timing of this update is perfect, well... would have been better 1 day earlier :P

As much fun as that sounds from a watching chaos standpoint, this puts the unorganized player even further behind the rage/vandal/murder curve. Especially with lowered early game soak values. It seems like casual players have their chances at surviving a chance encounter with an organized group pretty badly wounded.
