Weakling.

If bats weren't inherently aggressive I think that'd fix almost all concerns with them and they'd turn into an interesting part of forests and the world. It'd also still be dangerous to shoot at them as you may aggro a bunch.

it would also properly place them between ants and foxes since neither of those aggro

you should probably make bats not aggro and/or do less damage then

Taking out the swarm thug style beatdown that happens whenever you get downed by ants/bats would go a long way to this. They might be nasty to fight, but at least screwing up against one wouldn't kill you so often. Right now fatality statistics are probably:

Fox<Badger<Boar<Ant<Bear<Bat

Beginner mobs edging out the top of that list is amusing, but something needing fixing for sure.

Yea, but may be bats have another role, filling the gap between ground and low level mine in agressive mobs.

They're neat but way too dangerous in mines already. If their intended role was 'Wolves' of the caves and forest nights then they'd be excellent at what they are.

Bats are supposed to be easier than foxes?

Holy fuck you REALLY screwed that one up.

I know you don't tend to talk too much about future development, but I'm wondering if you're going to add 'of a tier' animals?

IE - Animals that are approximately the same threat level as a Boar, or a Bear, or a Fox (Or a Badger) that aren't specifically intended to be harder/weaker than another animal to fill a threat gap?

I'd love to see more variety in the world, and I'm loving these new bats and badgers because of that.

Of course, I also want a badger hat to go with the fox hat. >.>

Sevenless: We already know real life has some pretty shitty game mechanics, it's why we're here instead.
Avu: The end is near it has finally come to pass: I agree with Lunarius...
Shubla: There are also other reasons to play this game than to maximize your stat gain.
