Tar Kilns too Generous on Coal

I have another 2 kilns to gather coal from still before the day is finally done. Simply put, with 5 tar kilns we're bringing in ~1,500 charcoal a day. The charcoal output is excessive compared to the tar output. This needs to be reduced in some way, either by reducing how much charcoal you receive per block, how many blocks can be burned in a day per tar kiln, or both. I greatly appreciate getting more than 2 charcoal per day per kiln, but this is probably a bit too far in the other direction. =)

Go away, theyre fine just as they are! Tar should be rare, not common. Charcoal common. Not rare.

I agree that charcoal should be common but this is insane. You don't need 480 per tar kiln per day. We've been avoiding keeping ours going because it's such a hassle at this point just to unload the charcoal all out. =)

Charcoal is really easy to make irl, and with the size of the tar kiln, I'm not really surprised at the output.
Still think it could use a reduction though, cause the tar to coal ratio is ridic.

Are you the resident coal burner of your town, Teck?

Me and BunBun are, yes, which is why you keep getting complaints about it from me. =)

I build 8 tar kilns , and for 1 day got 1280 coal.
If there so easy to make charcoal , why you added blackcoal into the caves?

Yes, this stabs at the heart of the issue as well, but I'm sure jorb appreciates this concern already. When a resource is overabundant or trivial to acquire it loses its value and has a domino effect among other areas and professions. Finding a coal rock or striking black coal becomes a waste of time when you can produce a months worth of fuel in a day.

Definitely agree that charcoal currently renders underground coal completely pointless.

That being said, I actually really don't mind this. You don't need 8-10 tar kilns, thank frigging god. But I do agree it's actually at the point where tar is difficult to get just due to the sheer amount of charcoal you need to process in order to get it.

Wood input up, tar output up is one option. Another option is buffing underground coal, perhaps x4 potency so you only need 3 pieces per smelter load instead of 12?

I really like the density of coal per tile required to process it though. I'd appreciate if we kept that at least.
