Remove animals unhitching unless they take/deal damage

As in, unhitching for the process of taming.

Recently we had someone head close to our village, aggro all of our animals while we were offline and leave; causing them to dehitch and despawn over night whilst nobody was on. Even had they not done this, their tame progress would be reset if someone entered and rehitched.

I suggest a method to remove this edge case abuse, either by not having the animal unhitch/tame reset unless someone in the fight takes damage or some other method.

I would suggest the best solution to this would be not to change mechanics. Instead hitch your animals off screen render.

Terrible, one shouldn't have to build a base much bigger than you will potentially use just to stop griefing.

It's a cruel world pal. If you don't want griefing or pvp go play minecraft. With how easy walls are to make the bigger base is probably a good idea.

It's difficult to reply politely. I'm just gonna go with I disagree with that line of reasoning. Sniper walls sucked in legacy and they would suck here too, whatever the reason requiring their construction.

How do you know how I feel about pvp? The fact that you equate griefing to pvp (former is the lamest subset of the latter) betrays your ignorance or limited capabilities...

Griefing in most forms has been looked down on by the devs and community. It's not fun when someone extends the wall and blocks the gate of a newbie, or snipes you over your walls requiring you to make your claim twice as big as you want it to be just to block others from seeing in, or sends a crime alt to grief your resource nodes, etc etc.. This is why the devs have worked to make these things, at the very least, substantially more difficult to do. Saying that a fresh alt should be able to walk by and wreck a weeks worth of work at no risk or cost is pretty lame.

If you find tamed animals to be an asset then protect them.

Just a little alpha testing imo. Alpha stage game should be welcoming and rewarding griefers for showing how current mechanics are not going to work.
