No you misunderstand. I am against people whining about having to find workarounds for current mechanics. Recording shouldn't be possible. But it is very easy to do right now. I told the guy to move his animals off render. Then everyone got butt hurt about having to use 50 more blocks to do so. Its about what is valuable to you.

51 blocks stretches a wall 17 tiles? Maybe only 14. So it's pretty accurate. Four trees could save your animals from the bad men.....

OK, I guess I don't understand the maximum aggro range, but I would think you'd need that distance in every direction, and I thought that was more than 14-17 tiles. If I angle the camera properly, I can render over 64 tiles away. Never tried to aggro anything at that distance, though. I you can, you need your corral at the middle of a 135X135 enclosure. Thats more than 4 trees.

Or am I missing something?

Well to start the render for something on your screen is 40 tiles. So yeah more then 50 blocks. However I am pretty sure that you can't aggro an animal past a certain distance. Given that a village claim is 50x50. If you keep your hitched animals near the center of your village you would be fine. I haven't actually tested the distance to aggro animals but I know for sure you run towards them before you aggro them.

I don't think this is true.

As for aggroing animals in the process of being tamed, there may well be things to be done, but in the meantime, you can just put them far enough inside your walls to be outside the aggroing distance, which is indeed far less than the rendering distance.
