Suggestion for Combat: Mulligan

So as it feels if you got a very bad draw from the start you might be really screwed from the get go. In other cardgames there is the possibilty to redraw your hand at a slight disadvantage. That is usually the loss of some initiative or maybe the loss of a card.
So i suggest that you get the chance to redraw your hand at the beginning of combat at the expense of having to deal with a cooldown. This basically helps you out and you are not completely screwed by rng and also gives a slight disadvantage so people dont exploit it and you have to play around it.

I'd honestly rather be able to discard single moves rather than the whole deck, without the full cooldown.

But I also hate the idea of the combat system being a fucking card game so iunno. RNG is ass, especially if it determines life or death.

This. The last combat system was a bit more difficult in that you had to set your hotkeys well, but this one will be worse when you're low on health and all that your combat hand gives you is aggressive moves.

is there a way to switch targets. sometimes I chase a bat into more bats because i'm dumb. and while running back towards the exit spamming defense, I can't use any offensive moves because im still targeting the one that ran away and is no where near me. So far armor saves my life in these situations but i'd like to somehow retarget an aggressive bat and keep fighting.
This game really needs a great sword...

Mulligans are usually there to reduce the random element. That is relatively small here though.

You can design your deck so you don't have any dead draws.

In general I like the idea, but I am not sure it is necessary. Would just mean people who are bad at deckbuilding and put like all 40 moves they have in a deck get rewarded for that.

@Vigi: You can do that already. ctrl and hotkey discards a move for a cooldown.

What, you can discard? This changes everything.

Just another one of those things that could've been a bit more obvious

To expand on this, in case it hasn't been said before, the deck is not completely randomly shuffled as it is in a card game. Rather, if you use, say, 5 of a particular move, then those five moves will only be distributed randomly into each fifth of the deck, so you're absolutely guaranteed to draw one of them before the first fifth of the deck is consumed. They'll never be all on bottom or all on top or anything like that.
