Is... this a suggestion?

Just showing a screenshot?

Critiquing the state of mining right now?

I envision it working in a way that it isn't a required process in mining but simply one that when used would reduce the strength required to break that wall by a specific amount or perhaps choosing a random strength reduction within a set range.

It should heat up any walls directly near to where you place a fire and then when you douse them the cracks would appear and instead of needing 90 strength to mine that wall you now only need 70.

Something like that.

It would be neat to have a laborious option to break through those insanely hard nodes.

I do agree, because I've been sitting on bloodstone found within the second week that I'm only now getting close to scratching.

Using heat to fracture stone is an old one. However it has limitations. Some stones andmetals would be immune to it unless it was at a point to litterally melt it. And that would defeat your purpose.

Oh, so there is a point to this thread.

Hey Cajoes, your image is NOT self-explanatory. I was just like "Uh, ok, so he lit up the area and I don't know what he's wearing. Yep, moving on..."

Lighting tons of campfires in small cave might not be the best idea.
